Aren't you on the patio, not the porch?

I know we aren't having orchestra practice tonight because our conductor (who also is a member of "The President's Own," the Marine Corps Band) has a gig tonight. No doubt President O'Bama is celebrating his Irishness!

His Irish heritage is absolutely authentic.

How much snow are you going to get?

And in a few days we will probably get a visit from Vern Equinox.

Not so much snow, but sleet and ice. Then rain overnight that turned to ice.

But we've gotten around ok here in Richmond; most things just opened up 2 hours late (though some schools closed up again; the schools that closed got calls from parents whining about making up lost days -- some area schools have already said they're extending the school year by a week in addition to making the school days longer -- and the ones that didn't close got nasty calls from parents wanting to know why their school didn't close because the one in the next county over did. That's a gig I don't wish on anyone).

They closed all the schools in all the counties around here. When I left for work Wake (Raleigh) County schools were on a two-hour delay but I saw later they were closed for the day. Good planning; working parents must really appreciate that.

It's 11:20 at we're still 31°. The roads were not frozen on my way to work but they might be now. At least it's supposed to be warm enough to go play Team Trivia tonight. The road to the place is terrible in good weather and worse in bad.
