Prayers please for Big J

#1 Post by a1mamacat » Thu Mar 06, 2014 8:46 pm

He has had a swollen lymph in the pelvic area for a couple of weeks, and had an ultrasound and blood tests yesterday. Today the clinic booked him an appointment with a specialist.

I know it is a tad early to be panicking, but if you could all send some really good thoughts our way that what is there is benign, and not some Hodgkins.

Thanks.

Sending all good thoughts your way and hoping for the best for Big J . . .

I studied up on these a while back, and a lot of them turn out to be nothing serious - the body is responding to a perceived threat by massing defenses against something minor.

Sending good thoughts.

good thoughts and prayers from here
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I think a lot of us think of Big J as one of our own--I am absolutely praying for both of you that it's nothing major.

Good grief. You & Big J have my prayers. I hope, as Ritterskoop said, it is just a form of mumpish immune-system behavior in a very inopportune place.
