Thanks! Nothing like having a freakout on TV and watching your mind go utterly blank. But, on the whole, it was fun and I was happy with how it all turned out. I'm a comm arts major, so I think they might let me stay.

Perhaps the question writers meant the "Mid-Atlantic states", here? If a swarm of cicada had emerged from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, that really might have been a sign of the Apocalypse! :P

With all the extra fluff the put into questions, sometimes another word really is important!

I've have to jump this one, too.

IIRC, SpongeBob and his friends live in Bikini Bottom, right next to where all those nuclear tests were.

Uh oh. I figured you'd need this lifeline later.

You need your eyes to adjust to the dark to notice meteors. Those other choices are bright enough to see without adjustment, particularly when they occur in daytime.

Another WWOQ in the $100K position. I'd have to jump it.

Congratulations, ladysoleil! It could have been better if the $25K hadn't been behind your jumped question, but that's still a lot of pie! :)

This is the only question where I could have been any help with lots of meteor shower viewing in my rearview mirror. I was yelling C! C! at the screen -- like it could do any good.

Good job!

So glad to see a BB on the show, particularly one who's been around for a while.

It was a great run, ladysoleil and a shame you couldn't have saved a lifeline to get past the $100K. I hope you reach your goal of pie in the remaining 26 states.

Aww, thanks all. No regrets, really. I was kicking myself for not saving the jump, but in the long run, I'm okay with that. Unrepentant about the ATA. I needed to buy myself some sanity, and would not have trusted the audience on the 100k question anyway. It might have ended badly if I had gone there. It was, on the whole, a pretty fun ride, and I'm glad to take it off my bucket list.

Congrats!!! Enjoy your check. I was too frazzled to attempt the $100K question when I played. It's a lot easier to play at home when no "real" money is on the line. Way to go!!! :)

I've been thinking about that question. It's another sign of the celebretizing of news. Here's a massive $65 billion case of fraud, along with a massive failure of SEC regulators and private stock analysts to detect the fraud...and what we're supposed to pay attention to is a list of famous names that appeared among the thousands of victims?

Q1:
Spoiler
Know it
Q2:
Spoiler
Knew it was cicadas, never heard the term
Q3:
Spoiler
Read the book, can't remember the dedication. I have my quarrels with the "almost-unformed" thought processes of the central character. But book review won't come here. However, I thought A, B, or C could have been it, & was in fact tripped up by C; "why would she dedicate it to Holocaust victims? Oh, she said sixty million, not six...". JTQ
Q4:
Spoiler
Knew Pittsburgh had the Steelers.
Q5.
Spoiler
Knew Washington lived at Mt Vernon. So did ladysoleil, so don't know why she even vacillated. Got to be pressure of the show.

Q6:
Spoiler
D is only "logical" answer, but fan theories aren't logical. Let's say I get it, playing here, but in reality might have jumped it.
Q7:
Spoiler
Vacuum in a vacuum flask is the insulation. As ladysoleil says on show, kegerator is too large to handle, at least the way the question seems to imply, as in "pick up in one hand". You wouldn't want to insulate your beer because it's hot, would you? (Unlike lsl, I don't have a beer koozie.) So Java Jacket remains as logical answer.
Q8:
Spoiler
Knew it.
Q9:
Spoiler
Knew it because have done it for very not-so-spectacular meteors. I dunno what sun pillars even are, though. Go ahead with answer anyway. Wish lsl had gone for it.
Q10:
Spoiler
Knew it. Knew "it"?. Anyway.
Q11:
Spoiler
Had read that Wiesel was victim. Otherwise, no idea. Use jump if I still have it. Would not expect audience to know any more than I know.
