Well, it's been a while since I've been around here. Just a little catching up to do.
Our cruise was a nice getaway. elwing's new joke is "Cruising like a Norwegian means sleeping like a sardine". Our cabin was quite small - the way it was placed it was impossible to walk around to one side (there was a built-in table in the way) and a fold-up bead attached to the wall on the other side. And the food wasn't quite as stellar as we've had on other cruises. But we were in warm climes and I dominated at trivia with the help of a woman and her mother who were as enthusiastic as I was.
On the work front, I didn't get the GS-12 position for which I applied. It seems that one of the other branches had an overabundance of GS-12s and so they lateraled one of them into the position I wanted. I'm still doing the same work (actually even more, now that we've officially "regionalized"). Because of that I've been so busy that I haven't had much time to do anything - even my breaks are taken up with "reporting", "support for others", "system administration" and other duties.

And your cruise didn't make the news for any viral epidemics, so that's good!
Sorry about the job.
