Has it always been thus that you only give partial credit for song titles with extra words in them and such? No complaints if you do, but I haven't been too careful about it up 'til now because I thought as long as I got the title in there somewhere I was fine.

That's why I've always done points on the 10 instead of the 1s, even though it's more counting and adding. I think I said in the initial posts that I had considered going to single points, but I decided to keep the 10 so I can do half credit easily, without having to spend time trying to decide what's too much and what's too little.

I think I've been pretty consistent, although I don't always remember to note the halfs and fulls in the answers.

I do give full credit on some, like the Golden Slumbers/Carry that Weight thing and if somebody adds what is actually a parenthetical on as part of the title. I also give a little more leeway on the oddities and standards stuff.

I think I can identify where the extra 30 points came from. I had a hell of a time coming up with Hey Jude, and I know that song has haunted me in past LS games, and likely this one 6 years ago. Add in the 10 point bonus, and that would add up to an extra 30....

BTW, I really love looking at the retro stats, even if I only played about half of the games. I will definitely be doing some retro games myself when I host my next LS since I know I have all my old scoring scattered throughout the 20 or so notebooks piled up on this desk....

Maybe it could start a trend! Assuming there's anybody else who's anal enough to keep all the data or cheap enough to go over six years with the same computer or lazy enough to not bother to delete the files. Or all three. Ha!

Yay for ghost and spunky being back! I think Mel must be on vacation and I had to check twice to make sure that I didn't miss KT's answers.

I got a phone call halfway through preparing my answer and lost the post, then had to go to play trivia and promptly forgot I hadn't submitted. :-(

Being a big Beatles fan, I'm really sorry to have missed it, but c'est la vie.
I was sad that you missed out. Then, again, whoever wins has to think of a reasonable excuse to not have to run a game next month. Ha!

Gotcha. Thanks. I bet you've been doing it all along and I just noticed today. I thought partial credit was for people who got a word totally wrong, like saying, I don't know, Crimson and Shamrocks or something like that.

I had a teacher at Stevens Tech who used to say "you build bridge, bridge fall down, you want partial credit?"
