Underemployed Elf on the Shelf
poor Elf on the Shelf doesn't have much to do for 11 months of the year. I decided he's goes to become my spokesperson for the library. He's going to be photoed in costume (made by my talented daughter) reading different genres. so far we have these costumes:
fantasy: hogwarts hat and cape with wand
sci fi: silvery robot hat and jumpsuit
historical fic: tricorn cap, and cravat
horror: vampire cape black w red lining
mystery: magnifying glass with deerstalker cape and hat
can you guys think of anything else? Daughter and I are starting on the costumes while we're snowed in

Bestsellers: (like 50 Shades of Grey) .... I got nothing
Suitguy is not bitter.
feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive
The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

The elf could hold a skull, but that may not be appropriate for this audience. Maybe the cravat from Historical Fiction with a different hat.geoffil wrote:SHAKESPEARE
If your daughter has extra time, she could make different outfits for other eras of Historical Fiction: mail shirt and shield for medieval, toga and sandals for ancient.

I love you guys! We already got started and made a little Robin Hood costume, complete with quiver! Since he's so tiny and we're only going to velcro the closings with fabric glue, it doesn't take long. I'll post a picture when the costumer arises!
