CSLS 11/26:Fanny Edition

#1 Post by ShamelessWeasel » Tue Nov 26, 2013 7:49 am

Today's entry comes from Fanny. Fanny will get the high score for the day

1 point for song, 1 point for artist

3 points for theme

2 points for krox

1. So messed up I want you here
In my room I want you here
Now we're gonna be face to face
And I'll lay right down in my favorite place

2. I'm gonna try to do
All the things you want me to
If you'll just give me a chance
I'm trying to make something out of a nothing romance
And I don't even know you

3. Trouble with you is
The trouble with me
Got two good eyes
but we still don't see

4. I'm so happy 'cause today
I've found my friends ...
They're in my head
I'm so ugly, but that's okay,
'cause so are you ...

5. At night the stars put on a show for free
And darling, you can share it all with me
I keep a-telling you
Right smack dab in the middle of town

6. Blue sky, sunshine
Flowers bloomin', children sayin' hello
Rowboats, bird notes
People smilin' everywhere that we go

7. I found an island in your arms
Country in your eyes
Arms that chain
Eyes that lie

8. Well you've got your diamonds
And you've got your pretty clothes
And the chauffeur drives your car
You let everybody know

9. Did I hear you say
That there must be a catch
Will you walk away
From a fool and his money

10. You know the first time I traveled
Out in the rain and snow
In the rain and snow
I didn't have no payroll
Not even no place to go

I'm probably overthinking this, but I can't find a consistent theme. I see no consistency with regard to drug references, soundtracks, covers, etc. I'm going to go out on a limb and say these are all songs that Fanny has enjoyed while smoking pot.

I'm more a fan of The Town Pants, myself......

Serious question: Is that phrase some kind of colloquialism? Like something along the lines of the town pump?

In other news, I honestly did not try to make this super hard (TWSS). Why would I, when I get high score?

I really thought I was doing a solid by not having anything more recent than 20 years ago (but, then again, I thought turkeys could fly.....), maybe having something more recent would have helped.

I also was going to forego the krox in favour of a bonus song, but that's become sort of a tradition. Well, screw tradition!!!!1

It's not really too tricky, so since I don't think that anybody has stumbled into a krox yet what say I add the bonus song and everybody gets an extra shot at bonus song and/or theme points?

Since Weasel's ramrodding this rodeo, I guess it's up to him. So I'll just PM him the bonus song so he can post it if he sees fit.

On the other hand, I did have about three or four other ideas. Should I check and see if he still needs another game for the month? Ha!

The Town Pants? I had no idea where the name came from, but I found an answer on Wikipedia.
The Town Pants are a Canadian celtic rock band from Vancouver[1] formed from the remnants of The Van Demons by brothers Dave[2] and Duane Keogh.[3] The band was named for an Irish racehorse that the Keogh brothers bet on one time.
Sounds like an odd name for a racehorse, too. :P

As for Enter The Haggis, I think that's a stage direction from "MacBeth".

Exit MacDuff. Enter the haggis, stage left.

Maybe your girlfriend saw The Magic Christian also. I didn't see it when it was first released, but it was still in the 70s, too much for my aging memory, I guess. My memory told me that Ringo did the acting and the Beatles did the songs. Oh well.
