In this consolidation:

--Every answer is correct, including the two answers with question marks! (You should have no problem figuring out #24's first name now.)

(Actually, I overlooked one thing. The team's collective answer to #12 is technically wrong, although the surname is correct and doesn't affect gameplay. It isn't Wyatt Brady or James Brady, but Mathew Brady.)

In the matches:

--One name is still in an incorrect trio.
--One correct derived name is still paired with an incorrect associated word.

Now I'm sure that most of you are sitting there, demanding that I check my math. "If there are 77 names and each can be used only once, you can't make 26 triplets because 77 isn't divisible by 3." Well, that's the Fireball twist this time around. You have to identify this clueless person on your own in order to complete the 26th and final triplet.

Now that Bill Hicks has been confirmed, it completes one of the partials:

49. JENNIFER Jones + 74. LAWRENCE TAYLOR + 42. BILL HICKS = Jennifer Lawrence (SILVER) + Taylor Hicks (PROUD)

I admit I looked at his discography to get the associated word, but I figured out the match myself.

Could this be LYNN ANDERSON? with I Never Promised You a Rose Garden.

AND It could complete the Marion Barry pairing to give us BARRY LYNN, who heads the council for the separation of church and state and is on the news alot.
That won't work, because Marion Barry is the name in the middle whose first and last names are switched. To form Barry Lynn, you'd need someone whose last name was Lynn.

Updated consolidation.

As of the last consolidation:
One name is still in an incorrect trio.
--One correct derived name is still paired with an incorrect associated word.
Identify the 77 people and fictional characters based on the clues below. Using each answer only once, form 26 matches of 3 names and 2 of the associated words in the Word List based on a Tangredi, or hidden principle that you must discover for yourself. There may be alternate matches, but only one configuration will allow you to complete the puzzle.

The missing person must be someone who represents the middle term in a trio, otherwise it would be impossible to figure it out.

Drew Carey could go with Lowell Christopher for Cary Lowell, who was a Bond girl.

I think 24 is Sammy Davis Jr but I can't confirm it.

Okay, I cheated on this one:
3. Before she died, Patti Page re-recorded her most famous song with this man as her pianist.
I went off on a tangent thinking this was referring to How Much Is That Doggie in the Window, but it's actually refers to The Tennessee Waltz, and the answer is LAMAR ALEXANDER.

We used to watch Trading Spaces, and there was a designer on the show named Barry Wood who famously split his pants on his first appearance. Could PANTS be the word that's currently associated with the wrong person, or is that too obscure a reference? Because we have Natalie Wood unmatched, and it would complete a partial. I don't know enough about Payne Stewart to say what other word might go with him.

Payne Stewart was known for always wearing old-fashioned knee breeches when he played. I don't know what other word could go with him (since I discovered he wasn't flying solo when his plane crashed as I had thought).

I'm wondering how to get two names that are associated with the word Porter. The only person I can think of who would go with Porter would be someone with the Pullman union. If we had a Randolph to serve as the middle of a trio, we could make (A.) Philip Randolph, but Philip Glass is already being used. Maybe someone associated with Cole Porter?

Heather Locklear could go with Tom Arnold for Heather Tom, a soap opera actress best known for her roles on The Young and the Restless, One Life to Live, and The Bold and the Beautiful. Unfortunately, none of those words or words like "soap" are associated words. She could go with Emmys since she has won five daytime Emmies, which is a lot (and she has about ten other nominations). needless, to say, there's lots of "Arnolds" that can be used as first names.

65. Last July, this legendary composer's new work, Sonata No. 3 for Violin and Piano, had its worldwide debut postponed due to illness. (Its new debut date is this December.)
Once I figured the first name, it was easy to guess this one and confirm it. This is Andre Previn, who goes with Benjamin Franklin for Andre Benjamin, aka Andre 3000.

The other half of that must be Franklin Pierce, then. But I'm not sure what word would go with him.

Okay, I had to track this down.

61. On June 4, 1951, this world-renowned dancer became the father-in-law of a man whose medical discovery almost exactly 23 years later would save millions of lives.

ARTHUR MURRAY, whose daughter married Dr. Heimlich!

This seems right, but I can't figure out either of the associated words.

72. BEATRICE STRAIGHT + 61. ARTHUR MURRAY + 68. LOUISE SLAUGHTER = Beatrice Arthur + Murray Slaughter

I think the Arnold part of Tom Arnold goes with Boris Becker for Arnold (Arnie) Becker, Corbin Bernsen's character on LA Law, which would match the other Lawyers.

Okay, this one opened some doors, even though I cheated.
45. DFW Airport was not thrilled when he tried to smuggle a toy knife, a toy gun, and toy hand grenades in a 1991 publicity stunt.
This is some radio personality named RUSTY HUMPHRIES, which completes our BARRY match and links to DAME Edna.

27. FRANCIS Drake + 7. MARION BARRY + 45. RUSTY HUMPHRIES = Francis Marion (FOX) + Barry Humphries (DAME)

Payne Stewart can keep his pants on.

COMPLETED SETS
59. VERA MILES + 4. LYNN ANDERSON + 23. GARY COOPER = Vera Lynn (MEET) + Anderson Cooper (GLORIA)
52. HEATHER LOCKLEAR + 5. TOM ARNOLD + 8. BORIS BECKER = Heather Tom (EMMYS) + ARNOLD BECKER (LAWYERS)

Had to look up little-known M & M boys, but the pretty undistinguished Kevin McReynolds and Carmelo Martinez helped the Padres to their first World Series in 1984. Carmelo must be the younger, because he will make Carmelo Anthony, of the New York Knicks.

Was there ever a MTM episode where Murray says the F-word?

Nothing much different compared to the last consolidation. All of the answers listed are correct, including the JACKSON at 47. Once you figure out his first name, it'll be easy to complete that trio.

The completed trios still include the one misplaced name, but now there are two correct derived names with incorrect associated words. And yes, Payne Stewart can keep his pants on because that word is correctly placed.
