Is it possible that GRACE LEE WHITNEY should be connected to WILLIAM SHATNER instead of GENE RODDENBERRY? Seems like just as good a match to me.

Hmmm. We'll have to keep an open mind on that one. Shatner has more possible associations than Roddenberry, but maybe the GENE is more important.

8. BILLY MARTIN + 89. ED GEIN = ED WHITSON, Yankees pitcher who fought with Martin (who didn't?)

How about...

13. JIMMY DEAN + 68. WILLARD SCOTT = Willard Whyte, played by Dean in Diamonds Are Forever?

Which would make the Alain Whyte / Morrissey one work, too.

10. One of his earliest acting roles was as a boy needing a liver transplant on an X-Files episode remarkably similar to the current TV series, Touch.
Is this Shia Laboeuf in the episode the Goldberg Variation with Willie Garson Moz from White Collar

It could go with Rosie O'Donnell to give us Rosie Huntingdon Whiteley, his Transformers co-star

Can there be some connection between John C Calhoun and Eli Whitney?

What, I don't know. But the cotton gin and the South and Calhoun and war could be something.

They both went to Yale.

No, Whitney was older. However Calhoon was Secretary of War when Whitney got a contract from the War Department to supply guns with interchangeable parts; he never fulfilled it. I'd have to look it up but I recall that caused Whitney to die in poverty.

FWIW isn't it BILLIE Sol Estes, not Billy?

Reason I ask....

Billie Whitelaw is associated with Samuel Beckett.

BUT, Billie Whitelaw is female and, if sss wanted to do that, he could have done it with Billie Burke.

True... but then again, Billie Burke is not as interesting a name as Billie Sol Estes.

And indeed, his name is spelled with an -ie and not a -y, so the pair works.

One of your matchups will not allow you to complete the puzzle (I won't say it's wrong, due to the nature of this game), but you're matching two people who should be matched somewhere else.).

I did not want to point this out earlier in the game because that would have been a big tipoff as to the nature of the Tangredi.

I think I know where we (or more like I) screwed up.

I think we need one of the Margarets to make MARGARET WHITTON, who played the owner of the baseball team in "Major League" (TOM BERENGER).

In that case, I would keep the Margaret Whiting/Johnny Mercer match and kill the Bourke-White match. The link between Mercer and Whiting is much stronger than the link between Bourke-White and dams.

Eugene V. Debs goes back on the unused list.

Can Albert Hoffman be here for Albert Whitlock, the visual effect Oscar winner?

Did he do anything on Star Trek, maybe? I don't know enough to say.

Yes, on the original TV series.

Just a point here since it won't affect the solving of the puzzle, but Liu Yang is incorrect. The correct answer has a more direct connection with Whitson than Yang does.
