JTQ - I thought Tubman was the only one who had died by then.

Ouch! I looked them up. Anthony was born the same year as Tubman. Stanton was born five years before that. Adams was born in 1860.

Matt leaves with $1,000.

For the second time this week, my station let its noon news broadcast run overtime, after the president's statement. We rejoined SyndieBAM already in progress, completely missing Matt's run. :(

Seriously? With all that a funeral costs already, they can't give a cup of coffee to those who need it without turning this into a profit center?

OMG! I remember asking this trivia question several years ago on the Bored, after seeing a special exhibit about gold at the AMNH. If you're copying material from here, question writers, you're late!

Food and Funerals go together in this part of the world
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

Has anyone figured out the cause and effect? Correlation is not causation, but in this case, it could go both ways.

My thought was the same. I don't know if I'd have been willing to gamble on it, though.
