And I thought this thread was going to be about music. But no, just noise.

How was that? :D

99.99% of our worst critics made less money than we did. Not that I'm saying that had anything to do with the hate.....

PS I completely understand that approximately 99.99549840833% of the people on this board won't get the reference. But I posted it anyway because the (maybe) three who do will find it highlarious...

I bet you could buy a hammer at the Dollar Tree, but it'd be as useful as that guy's opinion. Nickelback concerts are fun--my son had teenage girls getting the security guy to pass him their phone number on a napkin at one, and he got high-fived by the lead singer of Papa Roach at another. It ain't Beethoven, but a Beethoven concert ain't as much of a party.

Erin wants the Unicorn Bicycle. I bet Rain Man secrectly covets it--he's a closet Brony...

From the way it is most commonly used, the word "hater" apparently means "anyone who disagrees with me."

So sorry, I didn't realize that calling a band banal and meaningless, suggesting that their musical talent is poorer than someone who watched a video for a few hours and thinks that knocking yourself in the head with a hammer would be preferable to listening to their music actually meant that he likes them.....

PS What do you want to bet that this cat couldn't pick out the melody to Ode to Joy on the guitar with both hands, a GPS and a boy scout to help him?

Huh? Where did you get that from? Of course he doesn't like them. He was expressing his opinion and trying to be funny (whether he actually was funny or not may be debatable), but I don't think that makes him a "hater."

I think one of the problems creating in the confusion here is the typical Juchian subject line faux pas. The original post was not a review of the concert that was being promoted, it was just someone op-edding on how much they hate Nickelback. It's like someone going off on the next Adam Sandler movie before they ever bothered to watch it....

The subject line should have more accurately been, "Great music dis!" because that's really all it was....

And while I can take or leave Nickelback myself, it pisses me off because it puzzles me how a band can became as successful as Nickelback has become if they really fit all the clever comparisons he gave in his "review". Sounds to me like another music "buff" who just can't stand musicians who "sell out"....

I'm sure Chad Kroeger's laughing all the way to the bank at this "review". I wonder what Josh Gross thought of Lynyrd Skynyrd when they passed through Boise back in the day.....

Directly from the article.
He was expressing his opinion and trying to be funny (whether he actually was funny or not may be debatable), but I don't think that makes him a "hater."
It's not obvious that pictures of a rainbow donkey bicycle and a guinea pig in a Radio Flyer quoting Chamillionaire are an attempt at humour? (Whether one actually finds them funny or not is a separate matter....)
What do you want to bet that this cat couldn't pick out the melody to Ode to Joy on the guitar with both hands, a GPS and a boy scout to help him?
Does this make you a hater?
Quite possibly. But it might also just be that a guitar player would be more likely to get the joke. (For all I know you could be one and still not get it, but that's okay. I won't hate you for it....)

Ha! Kind of like how Dave Grohl gets up on his little soapbox and calls out everybody that he, in his grand, glorious artistic opinion, doesn't deem 'authentic' enough.

And then 30 minutes hater, uh... later, he's playing a set with David Guetta and Deadmau5.....

PS Hater instead of later really WAS unintentional, but I found it so highlarious that I left it in.....

Rainbow Donkey has come so far from the first one, but . . . that it should come to this!

I demand a return of Doughnut Donkey!
