I Post Way Too Much

#1 Post by fantine33 » Wed Mar 05, 2008 9:42 am

When I have nothing to do but wait for my Mom to get here for our Inaugural Costco Visit (whoo!!).

If I'm not careful, I'll jump back ahead of Nelly and I tried very hard to curtail my posting so he could pass me.

I wonder if posting increases on Wednesday because people know that the list will come out on Thursday.

Go around lunctime, they usually have a lot of samples.

The hotdog and a soda lunch is the best bargain in town. Usually it's only $1.50 and the hotdogs are really good.

Amen, sister.

I discovered a Cheesecake Factory Lemoncello Cake in the freezer section of our Costco that is fabu - I had to take something to my mom's last weekend and it was a huge hit, even considering I'm normally expected to bake something myself. Our family goes through 4 gallons of milk a week - 2 whole and 2 skim. At Costco I get a 2 gallon pack of whole for 5.99 and skim is 5.45 (i think), while at LBMart, a single gallon of either is over $4. That alone is worth the trip to the other side of town.

Don't worry, Dad. I was at Mecca on Monday and I'll probably be going again this afternoon. But I need someplace to get my huge jugs of laundry detergent! Yes, the Super Walmarts have now capitulated as well and are full of cute little 'concentrated' jugs.

I should be gone already, but Costco opens an hour later than originally thought.

There are some things that Walmart just doesn't have good prices on, mainly because rarely are things on sale. I always get milk at the supermarket, since it's on sale practically every week. I don't use very much, though, so that isn't something that I'll be able to get in warehouse quantities.

Okay, it took me a while to figure out what you were talking about. You're referencing the post count on this board, right?

I'm talking about the weekly rankings. Nelly is obsessed with making it onto the weekly listing (he even adopted my "Hot 100" phrase). I don't care about it at all, so I ratcheted back my posting so he could get ahead of me. I was even replying to like four different quotes in one post, but the typing in of all the formatting was too much work (although I will do it in one post if they're short or already nested).

This week he finally jumped in front. I should stop volunteering to run games if I'm intent on not moving up in the rankings, huh?

Some of us have no life. These goals mean everything to us.

I'm babysitting this morning. A 2 month old and a 2 year old. Posting will definitely be at a minimum for me today.

The kids are at lunch, and I'd love to hit the Hot 100 someday.

Maybe 2012?

There is no such thing as too much postings.

Favorite things to buy at Costco:

Mini Osarka waters that fit in the kids lunches.
Spinach salad. I mix it up at home, taking out a lot of the bacon and only using about a fifth of the dressing. You put it in a bowl, put the dressing in, and then chop it up with two knives. Yum.
The huge box of 100 calorie school snacks.
They have some brand of trail mix I like.
I like their meat department. That's where I buy filets when I buy filets.
They have some apples that are particularly good. A good size and the kids fight over them when they start to run out. If you can get your kids to fight over an apple, well then, it is a good apple.

They also have really good beef jerky. It's much better than the stuff at Sam's Club.

You guys were the first, though. Small & Mighty was the only concentrate on the shelf for a couple years. Ironically, though, despite the fact that S&M is 3X, while everything else is only 2X, the Small & Mighty flavors left have gotten awfully squeezed and forgotten on the shelf lately....

Really, their particular spinach salad has way too much bacon. It's like a bacon salad if you don't take a ton of the bacon out. It overwhelms the rest of the salad. Same thing happens if you use all of the dressing.

LOL - I did not know this.

Now, I probably always will.

Know this I mean, not post a lot on Wednesday.

I post a lot when I have things to say that want to get out of my head.

And, when I have down time.

I post a lot when I am trying to avoid doing things around the house.

Sometimes I am avoiding 'really starting my day'.

That is code for 'getting on the elliptical'.
