Frank Church gives us Boise, which gives us Boies, as in David Boies, the attorney for Al Gore in the 2000 recount.

One thing that I have thought about for a while is a possible match involving Bill Gates, who is located in (or rather, new) Seattle. The 'William' might come from William Rose, the Seattle would come from, well, Seattle, so we need to find some anagram that involves Joshua that comes to 'Gates.' I am not good at anagrams, the ones that come to mind are things like Gesta or Stage, neither of which I can relate to Joshua. But that's the best I can do.

Nope, it's not Bill Gates, nor my dad, but another William strongly associated with Seattle.

The battle of Joshua's in which the sun stood still was not Jericho, but at Gibeon, which anagrams to BOEING. And that should wrap it up.

(I would have been in trouble had I missed this one; my dad, also named William, worked for Boeing for almost 45 years! Which made it a fun coincidence when I went to the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament last weekend and was assigned contestant number 707...)
Bazinga!

Thanks, I liked how smoothly this one went, with no mismatches and only one ambiguous clue (and one misspelling).

Wish I had thought of HARLEM/MAHLER. I was surprised that I couldn't find anything useful for what would seem to be easily anagrammable places like ISRAEL, IRELAND, and ICELAND. (There's Lord Asriel from "The Golden Compass", but I don't think he has a first name.)
