I had an X-ray done on my wrist yesterday afternoon to see if there was anything seriously wrong with it. The X-ray didn't show anything and the doctor said it was probably a minor soft tissue injury. He didn't prescribe anything in the way of medication; he just suggested that I take aspirin (or Tylenol or ibuprofen) and put some ice on it. So I did those things, went to bed very early, and slept through the night. The wrist is still a little tender but at least I can flex and rotate my right hand. And I feel much more refreshed as well, so today should be a good day.

What happened to your wrist?

Repetitive handbell ringing injury?

In a way, yes. There's a technique called "martillato" in wihch the bell is rung and then pressed firmly into the foam on the table to dampen the sound. It's a cool effect. The handbell festival featured 6 pieces, three of which had this effect written in, and not just one or two, but throughout the works. One even ended with the effect. Evidently that caused the soft tissue injury. Fortunately it doesn't impede my typing or mousing.
