Sunday Morning Laundry Discussion

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Sun Mar 02, 2008 7:55 am

I have TV's in my detergent aisle now. Not real TV's, but some sort of "electrionic billboard" thingies that play a little 5-10 second animated sequence. One shows a bottle of concentrated Tide coming out of a split open bottle of regular Tide, and the other shows a bottle of concentrated Gain coming out of an unzipped (Yes, unzipped) bottle of regular Gain....

My eyes hurt bad anough lately, now I get to have nightly seizures too....

Well, I couldn't put them in the cardboard baler because it broke down tonight. The spray paint aisle is right across from me, so I may have to.... uh.... touch up the screens a little bit....

And they've got them attached to the shelves too, so they're blocking half the merchandise they're supposed to be promoting!

Knock down a few monitors every night "accidentally" as you are loading product?

My Sunday Morning Laundry was putting the stuff Erin puked on last night in the dryer. She's not sick--just started coughing when a piece of popcorn got stuck in her throat. She had been drinking orange juice with her snack...

TMI. Just sharing the joy....

Amateur. Your brothers have perfected the Chocolate Milk and Spaghetti-O's Toss!

THAT is nasty. Especially when the puker has the top bunk. Imagine the splashback....

And I'm not making that one up. Unfortunately. That was a clean-up that required bleach and paint.

You two are going to get along famously.

And as for the starting theme of this thread: Ugh! We don't need more advertising in the middle of our shopping experience.

Only worse thing is those bright ads they put on the floor now. I don't know why there aren't more accidents (and resultant lawsuits) when folks slip and fall trying to avoid stepping on something when they come on these unexpectedly.

Hmm, sounds like a nice class action lawsuit for you and your fellow "Aisle 13" counterparts around the WalMart (sucks) world.

Or, maybe just some worker's comp. time off.
Enjoy every sandwich

Speaking of laundry...

Emma and I put this together this morning:

Image

I had a three bag sorter, but needed a four bag sorter because we have a lot of "delicates" that need to be sorted separately.

This sorter was incredibly easy to put together and it's very sturdy. The canvas bags that came with it are incredibly strong. Each bag holds a very large load of laundry. The wheels make it very convenient to move around.

I would highly recommend it to anyone that needs a four bag sorter.

I could just do a generic sweep and make everyone's title "Rexer".

That'd mess with everyone's heads.....

What is this 'sorter' of which you speak? Sounds like some sort of chick thing. The only 'delicate' item I own is my 'Titanic Swim Team - 1912' t-shirt.

For doing laundry, all you do is put stuff in the machine until it can't hold any more, throw in some soap, randomly spin the dial to one setting or another, and start. If you have more stuff to wash than will fit in the machine, you just put the excess in the next load.

The only other sorting I know of has to do with deciding what to wear on a given day: you pull a couple of socks out of the pile on the floor and throw them at the wall, and if they don't stick to the wall, they're probably good for a couple more days; or you pull a shirt out of the pile and hold it up to your face, and if your eyes don't water too much, it's probably good for another couple days.

Works for me and my three sons.

I have trained my girls to take their laundry to the laundry room and sort it as they take it off. Jeff is exempt from this rule because I am happy if his laundry makes it into the hamper in our bedroom. Yes, I will admit it, I have lower standards for my husband than I do my children, but I didn't raise him...

Clothes stay nicer if they are washed with similar colors and if the laundry is already sorted it's easier to tell when a certain color needs to be washed.

I guess that you woudn't realize it, living with boys, but bras last longer when they are given special treatment in the laundry.
