mrkelley, starfish and tbone
So answer the LS already! We need to do the math (subject to the Official Scoring, of course) and figure out who's going to make excuses not to do March.
And by "we", I mean somebody that I can bully into it, because I don't do math unless it involves money. Ha!

And, since I am QOP, I have to know if I need to get my LS in order by Monday. Since it was originally in August, the days will need to be moved around a little bit.

Since mrkelley has answered, I changed the subject to reflect the people who are most likely to win this month's LS.
I don't think I've read anything (although I don't always read everybody's answers after I do mine) about anyone planning on doing an LS for next month if they win.
Anybody?
I mentioned a while back that I had come across an LS I did several years ago when I was taking files off of my old computer. If I won, I could run that one basically just to have one going on for March.
However, no matter who wins, if anybody else has a fresh game, or was thinking about it, by all means speak up! New is always better than recycled, right?
Along that vein, does anybody (not just the Three Amigos) have a problem with rerunning a game? I doubt anybody remembers the answers and I don't think even lb actually saves copies of every game ever presented on the board.

No, you didn't miss anything. The post was originally to mrkelley and then after he answered I changed the subject line to include you and tbone to see if any of you had any plans for a March LS. Notice that I even used your formal name!starfish1113 wrote:Did I miss an extra LS? I was the first to answer Friday's game and my effort was not good enough to catch TBone, who I believe got one more right than I did to add to his five point lead. I didn't check either Fanny's or mrk's scores, though.

Well, everybody knows who won the month now, I was going to keep that secret. Ha! I just glanced at the score sheet, but I don't think you played very many games that month.littlebeast13 wrote:I have..... uh..... wonderful memories about the August 2002 LS! And, I have caught an lb error! There weren't any instrumental games, there was an instrumental bonus question on most of the days (most, if not all, of the Theme Thursdays had the theme as the bonus).

Now that you mention it, I remember the instrumental bonus Q's, but I still thought there was an all instrumental game in there somewhere. Oh well, I just remember I didn't do very well after doing similarly horrible in Eyegor's July game, and I don't think I played RevDodd's September game at all! Thankfully, after I ran October, Barbarella, Starfish, TBone & Vandal ran back to back to back to back games that I did well in before I presented my all-Merry Man LS game in March '03....

So you'll have to learn internet sign language and gestures for him. We already have Marcel Marceau here, so inability to speak shouldn't be a deterrent from posting. Heck, some people here probably should be rendered speechless....

Speaking of memories, the Eyegore LS game is what caused me to de-lurk and join in the fray! I had been lurking to get some info on auditions and after seeing a couple of LS games, I couldn't resist anymore and jumped in. If I recall correctly (a BIG if when it comes to MY memory), Vandal was running a "Bandstand" around the same time. Two music games were too much to resist. Then I asked if the kids would let me play with them on "Seven Clues", Barbarella asked the meister if they could keep me, and I've been here ever since.littlebeast13 wrote: I have..... uh..... wonderful memories about the August 2002 LS! I often say that I don't feel too badly about not getting out of the ROF in February 2000, because if I had made it to the Hotseat, I wouldn't have been looking for audition info in 2002.
And I wouldn't have met you guys.
Good Friends trump money any day of the week in my book.
Over 5 years already. Wow.

Bandstand - Grand Finale
First, I'd like to thank everyone who participated in Bandstand. I had a lot of fun doing it and I hope you enjoyed the daily challenge.
Today's Bandstand is all for fun. Two of our own BBs have gotten together to bring you the comedy classic "Who's on First" Bandstand-style. Hope you enjoy it!

Vandal Productions presents the comedy team of "Bud" Renovator and "Lou" Starfish in:
"The Who's On First"
[up curtain]
Renovator: Alright, now whaddya want?
Starfish: Now look, I'm the head of the promotions department. I gotta know the names of tonight's bands. Do you know the names of the bands?
Renovator: Oh sure.
Starfish: So you go ahead and tell me their names.
Renovator: Now let's see. We have three bands on the main stage tonight - The Who's on first, The Band's on second, Guess Who's on third.
Starfish: That's what I wanna find out.
Renovator: I say The Who's on first, The Band's on second, Guess Who's on third.
Starfish: You know these band's names?
Renovator: Certainly!
Starfish: Well then who's on first?
Renovator: Yes!
Starfish: I mean the first band's name!
Renovator: The Who!
Starfish: The first band playing tonight!
Renovator: The Who!
Starfish: The first band!
Renovator: The Who!
Starfish: Tonight's first band!
Renovator: The Who is playing first!
Starfish: Now whaddya askin' me for?
Renovator: I'm telling you The Who is on first.
Starfish: Well, I'm asking YOU who's on first!
Renovator: That's their name.
Starfish: Who's their name?
Renovator: Yes.
Starfish: Well go ahead and tell me.
Renovator: The Who.
Starfish: The first band playing.
Renovator: The Who!
Starfish: The first band.
Renovator: The Who is on stage first!
Starfish: Have you got a contract with the first band?
Renovator: Absolutely.
Starfish: Who signs the contract?
Renovator: Well, naturally!
Starfish: When you pay off the first band after the show, who gets the money?
Renovator: Every dollar. Why not? They are entitled to it.
Starfish: Who is?
Renovator: Yes. Sometimes their manager comes down and collects it.
Starfish: Who's manager?
Renovator: Yes.
Starfish: All I'm tryin' to find out is what's the band's name on stage first.
Renovator: Oh, no - wait a minute, don't switch 'em around. The Band is on second.
Starfish: I'm not askin' you who's on second.
Renovator: The Who is on first.
Starfish: I can't even guess who.
Renovator: They are on third - now we're not talkin' 'bout them.
Starfish: Now, how did I get on the third band?
Renovator: You mentioned their name!
Starfish: If I mentioned the third band's name, who did I say is playing third?
Renovator: No - The Who's playing first.
Starfish: Never mind first - I wanna know what's the band's name on third.
Renovator: No - The Band's on second.
Starfish: I'm not askin' you who's on second.
Renovator: The Who's on first.
Starfish: I can't even guess who.
Renovator: They are on third.
Starfish: Aaah! Would you please stay on the third band and don't go off of them?
Renovator: What was it you wanted?
Starfish: What's the band's name on third?
Renovator: The Band's on second.
Starfish: I'm not askin' you who's on second.
Renovator: The Who's on first.
Starfish: I can't even guess who.
Renovator & Starfish: THIRD BAND!
Starfish: You got a band playing later on stage 2?
Renovator: No Doubt!
Starfish: I don't doubt it, I just thought I'd ask you.
Renovator: Well, I just thought I'd tell you. No Doubt.
Starfish: Alright, then tell me who's playing later on stage 2.
Renovator: The Who is playing fir-
Starfish: STAY OFF THE MAIN STAGE. I wanna know what's the band that is playing later on stage 2.
Renovator: The Band's on second - Main stage.
Starfish: I'm not askin' you who's on second.
Renovator: The Who's on first.
Starfish: I can't even guess who.
Renovator & Starfish: THIRD BAND!
Starfish: Look, you say you got a third band coming up after the first two, right?
Renovator: We promised you three bands on the Main Stage and they'll all be there.
Starfish: The third band's name?
Renovator: Guess Who.
Starfish: I don't wanna guess, I want you to tell me now?
Renovator: I'm tellin' you now.
Starfish: Then go ahead.
Renovator: Guess Who.
Starfish: I don't wanna guess, I want you to tell me who's the third band?
Renovator: Now listen. The Who is not the third band. The Who is on fir-
Starfish: I'll break your arm if you say Who's on first. I wanna know what's the band's name playing third.
Renovator: The Band's on second.
Starfish: I'm not askin' you who's on second.
Renovator: The Who's on first.
Starfish: I can't even guess who.
Renovator & Starfish: THIRD BAND!
Starfish: Well, I'm a big fan of rock music.
Renovator: I know that.
Starfish: Now suppose that I finish watching the concert and I want to meet the musicians.
Renovator: Yes.
Starfish: I go back stage and wait for who to show up?
Renovator: Now that's the first thing you've said right.
Starfish: I don't even know what I'm talkin' about!
Renovator: Well, that's all you have to do.
Starfish: Is wait for who.
Renovator: Yes.
Starfish: And I'll get to meet who?
Renovator: Naturally!
Starfish: Who will meet me?
Renovator: Naturally.
Starfish: Who?
Renovator: Naturally!
Starfish: Naturally.
Renovator: Yes.
Starfish: So I come back stage and I meet Naturally.
Renovator: NO, NO, NO! You come back stage and meet The Who?
Starfish: Naturally.
Renovator: That's right. There we go.
Starfish: So I come back stage and meet Naturally.
Renovator: You don't!
Starfish: I meet who?
Renovator: Naturally.
Starfish: THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING!
Renovator: You're not saying it that way.
Starfish: I said I get to meet Naturally.
Renovator: You don't - you get to meet The Who?
Starfish: Naturally!
Renovator: Well, say that!
Starfish: THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING! I get to meet who?
Renovator: Naturally.
Starfish: Ask me.
Renovator: You get to meet The Who?
Starfish: Naturally.
Renovator: That's it.
Starfish: SAME AS YOU!! I go back stage and meet who?
Renovator: Naturally!
Starfish: Who is there?
Renovator: Naturally!
Starfish: THEY BETTER BE THERE! If wait around a little longer I'll get to meet the band and if I stick around until after the third show, guess who's going to show up.
Renovator: Yes.
Starfish: I bring a friend along. I tell him he can come and meet the band. Who? I can't even guess who. Third band! And frankly I think this is garbage.
Renovator: What was that?
Starfish: I said I think this is garbage.
Renovator: Oh, that's next week's concert.

Take it away, Fanny! With my current situation, I could be unavailable to post games at any time. I know folks would understand given the reason, but I'd still want to avoid gameus interruptus if I could help it.fantine33 wrote:Since mrkelley has answered, I changed the subject to reflect the people who are most likely to win this month's LS.

Besides, as it turns out, it's your first right of refusal/acceptance anyhoo. Congrats! This is as it should be, because if you hadn't missed that one game, the outcome would not have been in question.
This contest was a REALLY fun ride! Lots of excellent players!

What are you going to do about certain people who are hiding in the cellar by being willfully disobedient?

I say the cellar ranking should be caculated by average points per day played, rather than by the raw score.

Just in case anyone had forgotten, I had already forfeited the right to host any games in March, as I expect at lest one extended absence from the Bored (days, not weeks, but still.).
I'll be ready for April, and I'll take any game that anyone else is not willing to host. It is unlikely I'll win anything this month, so it won't be by first right.
I have been working on QoD questions, but I'd be just as happy to host LS or even TimeLine. In the meantime, Fanny, knock thyself out!
