top o' the mornin'®

#1 Post by earendel » Fri Feb 29, 2008 7:00 am

Nasty weather this morning - thundershowers forecast for the whole day. It's my compressed day - possibly the last for a while (my boss suggested that I might want to give it up until my new backup was trained, which could take a while).

Tonight and tomorrow I'll be attending a handbell festival with the ensemble from our church. We're in the "coppers" division (insert the Jack Webb/Johnny Carson skit about "Clara's copper clappers" here). That's the "advanced" division, the other being the "tins".

Nice, clear, peaceful morning here. And the temperature was -8. :P

All the way up to 11 now, though. There's more snow predicted to arrive by the afternoon. Looking at the 10-day forecast, the roofers may not be able to finish their job for at least that long. :(

Thank God my flight out of Louisville was yesterday. Went off without a hitch. The only leg of my trip that was without "travel gremlins". I now have a new $1000 crown for my broken tooth and a new cell phone I'm still trying to learn how to use.

Have you received an answer about time off for your J! tryout yet, Ear?

You have the permanent crown already, Kay? Did the dentist have one of those machines that can make it in his office?

My dentist has one of those machines. The cost of living must be cheaper here in the midlands: my two crowns were 1400.00 total.

It's the temporary crown. The permanent one won't be ready for two weeks, which will be right in the middle of my federal jury duty, so who knows when I'll be able to get it done.

They want the money up front. I do have dental insurance, which they file, but I get reimbursed instead of them. It was a grand total of $1027!
I think the last one I had a few years ago was only $800.
