top o' the mornin'®
Weekends are supposed to be a time for resting, but last weekend certainly wasn't one (neither will the next one). On Saturday I attended a choir retreat to prepare for the Advent season, followed by a handbell rehearsal for the same music. On Sunday we had our regular hadbell rehearsal. I love the music program but it can be a drain on one's time at times.

If the Cards had played better, the missed call wouldn't have made any difference, but having that happen, and having TPTB acknowledge it, makes it harder to take. This is the second time in the past few years where the officials have blown a call that ended up costing Louisville the game.christie1111 wrote:Morngin!
Sorry about Saturday.
And I hate a game which has a bad call which makes a difference to a game.
But at least the Penn State win was without question.

No thanks, I've already raised my four (although "raised" may be a questionable word, at least in terms of general maturity goes).minimetoo26 wrote:Huh? They are?earendel wrote:Weekends are supposed to be a time for resting

Well, the cable is fixed now (the technician was WRONG! I TOLD him the splitter was under the house and not in the attic!) but my pool is now leaking. They're coming to check it out and she says it's probably some gasket, but I'm losing about 2 inches of water a day with the pump off, so it's probably worse than a gasket.
And the fridge guy isn't coming until Thursday, but I'm guessing I'll have to pay about as much as I would for a new one if I want to fix it. Again.
Yeah, kinda bad start this week...

To repeat our pediatrician's comment to a rant by BD on the general immaturity of (and her subsequent lack of interest in) her male high school classmates:earendel wrote:I've already raised my four (although "raised" may be a questionable word, at least in terms of general maturity goes).

I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I sure hope The Carp isn't in any danger of suffocation....minimetoo26 wrote:Well, the cable is fixed now (the technician was WRONG! The Carp will be high and dry soon at this rate.
I just hate having to keep fixing things before I can move forward. Plus it's expensive.
At least I don't have to do fix-ups to sell, like my sister is doing. The stepkids are both in college now, and she has the quadruple-whammy of college expenses, too-big-of-a-house expenses, home repair expenses, and her job being an appraiser when nobody can afford to buy a house anyway, so her income is way down.
So my life doesn't suck as much as hers does. It just frustrates me...

Darn right! The plumber's union requires that I charge no less than $200 an hour for my services. Just for mentioning your problem to me, I see that you owe me $437.23. You're lucky it isn't one of the 68 paid holidays we plumbers observe, or it could have been triple that....minimetoo26 wrote:I just hate having to keep fixing things before I can move forward.
