I have started calling Annie "the Miracle Dog."

Her skin continues to regenerate. The open wound is down to about one inch by two inches. Patches of beautiful, smooth, pink skin appear at the edges. More surprisingly, she already has fur in places where previously there was no skin. (I thought she'd have patches of hairless scar tissue, and that was okay with me.)

She seems to be feeling pretty darn good, too. A couple of weeks ago, I was happy to see her playing whirl-around tag with Lizbit. (That means Annie would stay in pretty much the same place and whirl around to intercept mock attacks from various angles.) This morning, they had a strenuous game of fast-as-you-can chase tag, and Annie was doing most of the chasing!

Annie isn't due back at the veterinary surgeon's until Saint Patrick's Day. By that time, I think her back will be completely closed and beautiful.

P.S. Bonus: Playing tag has worn both of them out, and they are napping soundly.

Mom is back on Oahu. She is glad to be home. Everything is set up okay at her house except for a shower. She can go over to my sister's across the street for that.

It will take her awhile, but it is progress.

Thanks for asking!

Clearly, you haven't yet seen the snarky things I said about my mother's latest adventures in medical care.

The difference is that Annie doesn't cause her own problems, she doesn't complain, and she follows doctors' orders.

It's all his fault. That'll be $10.

Aha! Finally, three differences between your Annie and my Annie!
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.
