A friend of mine, Voltaire Ronquillo, was in attendance for all six of Drew's TPIR $1M shows. He's been insinuating for the last few days that he got called down on one of them. We'll see.

Great name!

We should be able to pick him out if he did get called.

So that was what Voltaire had been keeping secret for the past couple of weeks...
Spoiler
Voltaire didn't get called down on last night's show, but his friend Adam Rose did. If you watched the show and looked just to the right of contestants row, you saw a Filipino guy wearing a Maryland T-shirt. That was Voltaire.

Adam won his way on stage in the final act. He played Grand Game for $20,000 in cash. He had to pick four grocery products worth under $7.00. He did successfully. Grand Game was not the special $1,000,000 game of the night; that $1M game was played earlier and not won.

Adam won his way into the showcases with the best spin(s) on the Big Wheel.

On Drew's TPIR Million-Dollar Specials, the leeway to win both showcases is $1,000 instead of the daytime leeway of $250. Plus, a double showcase winner wins $1,000,000. Adam's showcase was Carabella swimwear, an AquaCat 12.5' catamaran, and a Cadillac XLR convertible. From the audience, Voltaire flashed a bid of $83,475, which Adam took.

Actual retail price: $84,355--a difference of $880! Adam won it all! Over $1,150,000 in cash and prizes! Voltaire ran on stage to help celebrate.

So when Voltaire told me that he was gonna be on stage... well, technically, he was right. :D

Wow! Do you know if the winnings are cash or an annuity?

That's a good question. I know some people who are closely associated with the show. I'll ask them.

To answer Julie's question, it's a lump sum.
