J. J. Abrams Presents...CloverBored

#1 Post by J. J. Abrams » Tue Oct 25, 2011 7:20 am

On October 25, 2011, a strange set of transcripts was found in the Bored Posts forum by a moderator while performing daily maintenance. With the help of modern technology, the transcripts have been restored.

The story can now be told:

I'm wondering how beast managed to put a four year old date on that other thread. I was thinking that you had bumped a really old thread, until I saw the Herman Cain reference.

Hey! You deleted a thread! A thread that had somebody else's reply to it!

That's an abuse of moderator powers!!! :P

And, yes, I'm being facetious about this, but the topic of over-moderation is taken very seriously around here (especially when other moderators have done it) so it's worth noting for the record. Unless pea deleted her own post before you deleted yours--if so, nevermind.

Dude! Before you go casting wild allegations like that, at least do a little checking....

Nothing was deleted.....

Uh, so Pea deleted her post (did she?) thereby unbumping the original CloverBored post back into its original position four years back in the archives?

Not exactly. The CloverBored thread was supposed to be locked, but Pea replied to it and made it visible. LB moved her response (Woo freakin' Hoo!!) to this thread and locked the other, returning it to 2007.

All is well, except J.J. should have called this CloverShark.

As in jumped the...

I apologize for jumping to conclusions when I saw the original CloverBored thread suddenly disappear from the current list of threads, after beast moved Pea's post instead of deleting it.

LB sacrificed one of his 2007 posts (one with no replies, so no one else was affected) for the cause. That original Take Me Out to the Ballgame announcement post was probably more entertaining.
