Ouch, again!

I know that the question writers thought "Achilles" was supposed to be an instaget for a Level 2 question, but how often do people have this reflex tested, compared to the classic knee reflex?

"Food deserts" have been in the news a lot lately, at least in Colorado and New Mexico, probably Arizona too. I don't know when this was taped. Glad she figured it out.

I got a geography question right!

I woulda made the audience listen to all this: "OK, 1 doesn't have any letters, 2 is abc, 3 is def, 4 is ghi, 5 is jkl, 6 ... well, I guess I don't need 6." Then, with a little moment beseeching the universe that an iPhone has the same keypad configuration as a regular phone, I would say, "Love, final answer."

JTQ, without even thinking about it.

This is a horrible question! Someone like me with plantar fasciitis has had this done a few times. But if I hadn't, I might have used the same reasoning she did.
-- In Iroquois society, leaders are encouraged to remember seven generations in the past and consider seven generations in the future when making decisions that affect the people.
-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller

My problem with the Achilles question is, if you want it to be an "easy" question, why put knee in there as a fake? You know when people think of doctor's testing reflexes, they think of the knee, so unless it's the answer, there's no reason to put it in the question, other than to be a trap.

I agree - it was a horrible, unfair trap. I can't remember ever having my ankle tapped in an exam. Loved her- this sucked.

She called in "but could never get through"? I presume she meant she couldn't get through the questions, not that she couldn't get connected.

Hmmm...the 5 key is JKL, the 6 key is MNO, the 8 key is TUV and the 3 key is DEF. Since only one of the four starts with J, K or L, the answer seems obvious. I think Rhonda was confused in saying that "5" and "6" would be on the same key.

Unfortunately Rhonda didn't associate "Achilles" with "heel" and come up with the right answer.

Naturally, people like us would have wanted Rhonda to go into detail about exactly what she meant here. I think some folks do have memories of the first month or two of the Phone Game, when the lines really were busy at times and/or reached the call limit before the end of the call-in window. That seems to have colored their permanent memories of the era.
