Transcript 10/04/11 - Noam Osband

#1 Post by BBTranscriptTeam » Tue Oct 04, 2011 6:18 pm

Noam Osband
Philadelphia, PA

Noam comes rushing out on stage, waving at the audience to applaud, wearing a straw cowboy hat.

Meredith: What's with the hat?

Noam: I've spent a lot of time in Arkansas. If I've learned anything, it's that you're not fully male without a cowboy hat.

Noam flew in from Israel, yesterday. He had a 12 hour flight, but he wouldn't miss this opportunity to meet Meredith.

Henry Morgan, the pirate lieutenant governor of Jamaica? That would certainly give him the right experience for the job!

Two different Henry Morgans referenced in questions on the same show. If only they could have found a way to get game show panelist Henry MOrgan(50s-60s I've Got a Secret) in a question, it would have been a trifecta. Noam won $25700 on J! two years ago this week on 10/7/2009, losing his second game to future five time champion Terry Linwood.

Somehow I don't associate Arkansas with cowboy hats.

I'd have done the same thing.

The word sounds Scandinavian so I could rule out A and D but wouldn't be able to decide between the other two. I'll JTQ also.

Actually, it sounds more like an Eskimo (or Inuit or whatever) word, and that's why I figured it would be the glacier thing. The 'ak' ending sounds like kayak and umiak and all those other things, and the 'nun' at beginning seems related to a lot of 'land' words, like the full name of Greenland (Kalaallit Nunaat) or that portion of the Northwest Territories that became Nunavut.
Innocent, naive and whimsical. And somewhat footloose and fancy-free.

Harry Potter fans, no doubt. :D Although, the house animal is a lion, not a griffin. Close enough.

Noam was the last contestant I saw during the tapings I attended. I didn't see his carryover performance until today.

I thought he was YouTube worthy, so here's part 1. I'll put part 2 in a response to the transcript.
Noam's in here!

Didn't he also take off a coat before he put on the traditional cardigan along with his sneakers? Not sure I could have guessed confidently here. Although I suppose it would be easier for a gorilla, even one as smart as Koko, to yank off a shoe. After all who is going to stop her if she really wants to take it off...

Wouldn't have had to burn a lifeline here but I would think you would have to bring the eagles wings as well as the head to get a genuine mythical griffin.
