Being a huge Golden Girls fan, watching this, I was a bit upset I didn't get this in my stack. :D But even if you're familiar with Tarantino, this is definitely esoteric so a jump is in order.

Okay, the Amazon is a reasonable distractor, but the Swiss Alps???

I'm kinda surprised that the audience knew this one.

Time to JTQ because I don't think the audience would know this.

I knew the answer but elwing was wondering whether crocodiles are actually native to the Everglades or whether they were introduced long ago.

No, they're a native species. The Everglades is the northern limit of their range, which extends through the Caribbean and Central America to the northern edge of South America.

I suppose the Amazon is a reasonable distractor (more so than the Alps! Or even the French Riviera for that matter unless purses, shoes and suitcases count...) but I was surprised to learn many years ago that neither alligators nor crocodiles are found in the Amazon. Caimans are the only representative of the order of crocodilians found there. They are of course a genus within the alligator family but are not true alligators of which there are only two, the American alligator found in the SE coast of the US and the smaller Chinese alligator which is increasingly rare in the wild in China but does well in captivity.

The American crocodile on the other hand is typically only found in the Everglades in the US but is pretty wide spread through out the Caribbean to the northern shores of South America and both coasts of Central America. But it isn't found in the Amazon. There are several other smaller rare species of crocs in the same area including the Cuban, Mexican and Orinoco crocodiles.

Fascinating, if somewhat creepy, creatures!

I do still have my copy of this show. Is there anything else needed for the transcripts?
