i'm in charge here

#1 Post by herjosie » Sun Feb 17, 2008 4:12 pm

when my mommie came home from school on friday she told me she wasn't feeling good and needed to get lots of rest. i've been helping her. she sleeps on the couch a lot during the day and i cuddle up next to her. she has some blnakets she calls afgans and i like them a lot. i have to push them around a bit to make a good nest to lie down on but they are real comfy.

we've been doing a lot of sleeping for the last two days. mommie gets up sometimes to make tea or a glass of juice and to take some medicine. she coughs a lot, but she doesn't feel as warm as she did on friday. i guess she's starting to get better.

then today --- i went outside to the yard for a little bit. i came back inside and found her sitting up with the little computer on her lap. oh no you don't i told her. if you are sick you have to get more rest. so i made her give me the computer and go lie down again.

if she doesn't get well she won't go to play with miss annie's mommie this weekend and i won't get to go spend the night with my four-footer friends jackson and beau while she's gone. she has to get well.

somebody has to be the grownup around here.

Thanks for taking good care of your mommie. Please make her call the doctor tomorrow if she's not better. We will miss her terribly if she can't make it this weekend. :(

You're doing a good job, Josie. Help your mom get all better, and I'll try to keep an eye on her later in the week. If she looks like she needs more rest when she's around me, I'll just sit on her. Then she couldn't move. I have a way of getting people's attention.

Merv says to tell your ma to lie down and get with the program. Because, I will also be most irritated if she is ill this coming week.
Well, then

Thanks, little girl! Sometimes even mommies need to be babied, and you have been doing a very good job.

Annie, Kay and Beebs -- I'll definitely be there this weekend! I may be packing cough syrup and tissues, but I wouldn't miss it for the world. Thanks for the good wishes.

Now I need to post my answers for LS, take my Nyquil, and toddle off to bed.

I was under the impression you knew how to "contact" Al.
Enough already. It's my fault! Get over it!

That'll be $10, please.

Well, I can "contact" Al, but I can't control him. He's in complete control of himself, if maybe no longer his bowels....

I'll borrow a grumble and maybe get to work on it tomorrow. I got some pictures off my camera to try to avatarize, so I'll be doing profile work anyway, but it's mid-60's already and the kids are off today. Stephen is outside with Erin, and The Carp is drying out a bit...

Thanks, Josie, for the subject line...too often the two-leggers forget who is really in charge.

Glad to see that you are taking care of your Mom as well. Not sure why those human types always seem to get better whenever we give them a few minutes, but it works. Hopefuly you will have Mom back up to full speed real soon!

It's a warm, toasty 85 degrees in my sauna.

Now leave me alone, and don't forget to turn off the light when you go out....

55°, overcast with a bit of rain here right now.

We ducked under a huge storm that probably hit Marley.

It wasn't too bad. At least the mild temperatures are melting the ice rink that had formed in my parking lost.

herjosie has been doing an excellent job of encouraging/nagging me to rest for the past few days. This morning I flipped the sofa cushions, which were beginning to acquire a me-shaped dent.

President's Day could not have come at a more fortuitous time. I'll be skipping the sales, and taking advantage of the time away from school to continue the recovery process. There has been no fever for over 24 hours, and the cough is greatly eased.

I'm looking forward to hanging with the ladies in OKC and Norman this weekend!

That's good! I see flood warnings for eastern Dutchess county so we probably have a very wet Peacock.
