So instead of going home with $50. that the audience helped her get, she goes off with $1,000. without ever anwsering a single question right, on her own.

Marley's head must be spinning.

If she'd decided to stop and take the money with $2K or less in their bank, hopefully the host would tell her she's not losing anything by taking a guess on the last question.

... and she was the unlucky one. I've transcribed at least three contestants who got $25,000 (in place of the $100) from the audience, jumped two others, and then walked on the 4th question with $12500.

Yeah, the new rules are so much better!

But aside from that, this fragment of a stack featured three pop culture questions I didn't know. "Go Go Gadget" was supposed to be a level 1 gimmee?

I knew Darius Rucker, and the audience knew the Gadget one for $1,100. Sigh.

Guess I'd better brush up on Tonga history.

-- America would be a better place if leaders would do more long-term thinking. -- Wilma Mankiller

No idea, so I'll ATA.

I'm sorry I missed this (power went out during the day at our house and the show didn't record). It just doesn't seem right that she gets to leave with $1K when she only answered one question, for $100, and with the audience's help at that. But those are the new rules. <*sigh*>

Then again contestants (especially outside of "WE" territory) have to pay their own travel and time-off-work expenses. Some get hit with questions level 7-8-9-10 right away. J! and Wheel give $1000 to those who do nothing but "neg" and hit bankrupt respectively. So I see $1000 as reasonable. It is the $12500 for doing nothing but a lucky ATA that doesn't seem right to me.
