Yikes! They called this a level 7 question? The Wall fell in November 1989, so all four of the choices fell within the Reagan administration. What would tie this speech to a particular year? (Okay, the famous quote mentions "Mr. Gorbachev." If you know when he was in power, you could eliminate a couple of the choices.)

As for the rest of the stack, three pop culture questions. Yuck.

WWOQ, IMHO. I remember the wall coming down but don't know when he made the speech.

Maybe when one of the Team gets a chance, you could change the typo in the Spoiler.

Yuck is right, except that I knew two of them,.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

For me, this was a "Where were you when...." moment, so pretty easy.

Was it really? I can remember where I was when he got shot. I can also remember where I was when JFK was shot, which counts as my earliest memory of a world history event (stuff like the Cuban Missile Crisis, a year earlier, didn't make an impression on my four-year-old mind).

Where I was when Reagan made this speech? Nope.

Perhaps the fact that I was at my (German) in-law's house on a visit and they were huge Reagan fans. I don't remember JFK, but I do remember Bobby.

I think people's expectations have been lowered so they aren't thinking about how to spend big money.

That's rather a depressing comment. And as someone who's been married 39 years, I would disagree.

Hank Azaria will be playing Gargamel. From that, I'd assume Azrael will also appear.
