Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson

#1 Post by PlacentiaSoccerMom » Wed Feb 13, 2008 12:56 pm

We saw Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson this weekend and we loved the show.

The idea of the show is that Andrew Jackson is sort of an Emo Rock Star President who rebelled against the establishment. The establishment, represented by Van Buren, Calhoun, and Quincy Adams, really prissy guys wearing ruffs around their necks. The musical basically shows Jackson's life, from the point where he was orphaned, through a time after his presidency.

What I found most interesting is that at times "Andrew Jackson" was really whiny and his voice really reminded me of George Bush, I think that it was intentional.

Emma did not want to see the show, but I heard her talking to one of her friends on the phone telling her about it. She said, "well, it was really good, better than I thought it would be, but the plot was hard to follow." If you know about Jackson's life, it's easier to follow the plot of the show.
