Aussies are great. We had Australian Shepherds when I was a kid. Great dogs. We switched to Aussies after we had a problem with our mostly related mutts killing baby pigs. Never had that problem with the Aussies but they would always try to help herd the cattle and sheep. We never trained them very well so they mostly just hindered the activity.

Most of ours had "E" names: Elmo, Eddie, Earl, Ernie, Elmer, and Boo Boo. I think that's all of them. We tried out some "E" names for BooBoo but Boo Boo just stuck.
No matter where you go, there you are.

We inherited an Aussie from a friend; smartest dog ever. We nicknamed him "Houndini" because he showed an uncanny knack for escaping from locked houses; we'd find him in the yard even though we had left him indoors. Never did figure out how he did it.

Much better point than mine.

I did assume the I thing was planned - my bad.
No, not your bad at all. I know everyone assumes it. I knew it when I named her Ivy that people would assume it.

Yay for she who may be named Violet!

MarleysSister has an Aussie. Molly is a very "active" dog, so I hope you can handle that.
Yay for MarleysSister! Does she have kids?
Yep, MarleysSister and MarleysBIL have MarleysNephew.

They also have over 40 acres of land in a canyon, but they generally keep Molly on a runner, because 15 minutes of running loose in the brush could require a whole afternoon of cleaning the burrs and stuff from her fur.

I think there should be a rule that your pets names have to start with I.

So they fit in and all.
No way! It's actually a bit of an accident that we have two I names already. Isaac was not on the list of boy names when we went to the hospital. He was supposed to be William Cotton or Aaron Mitchell or Henry Michael. He was born Isaac.
What does this mean? Did he come out and say, "Hi, I'm Isaac."

My brother and sister-in-law had troubles with deciding on names for their three boys, despite having months to figure it out and decide. Sorta "peeved" me in the pet way.

We had all three of our kids named well before the "delivery" dates. All of the monogramming and embroidery stuff got done ahead of time, plus we had to say something other than "hey you" to the third kid in utero. :)

Yeah, that came out harsher than I meant.

It was odd that it took until the threat of check-out to spur them into some action on deciding on the names for all three of my nephews.

Anyway, we really were forced to have the older two kid's names picked out ahead of time, based on the circumstances. As I said, with the baby, we really wanted to have a name to say to the belly. :D

No. He just did not seem to fit any of the pre-decided names. We let his personality and face help us and we both agreed he was an Isaac and NOT any other name we picked prior to meeting him.

We don't monogram or embroider anything. Plus all that stuff, if you're so inclined, can be done after the fact. We did not find out the sex of the children either. We decided to do the whole pregnancy thing in the most natural way possible. No tests, 1 sonogram, labor at home for most of the time, no drugs and meet the kid before you name it. We don't even name puppies before we see them because we like names that suit the temperament. Can't imagine why anyone would name a child beforehand. Seems too forced to me. We had nicknames for our kids in utero, never once was "hey, you" uttered. Different strokes.
