All but one of the buyers were very fast with payments, and the last one finally paid, so no major problems there. And several of the Trivial Pursuit games and card sets from this week have received bids (anyone want a set for practice?

eBay feedback question
Who is supposed to leave feedback first, the seller or the buyer? I was thinking I needed to wait until I was sure I didn't get a return, but since I've gotten no feedback from last week's buyers, I'm uncertain now.

). I'm pleased, so far.

I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

I do not pay any attention to whether or not a buyer has left feedback for me. I leave it as I get paid for items. I do not play the reciprocity game. If a buyer has paid promptly for their purchase, it is so noted. If not, it is so noted.

Oh, I intend to leave feedback. I just didn't know if there was an unwritten protocol on who did it first, the buyer or the seller.bazodee wrote:I agree with PSM. As the buyer of the item, I leave feedback when I receive the item. More often than not, the seller then leaves feedback (once they see what kind of feedback I've left.)

I leave feedback after I hear from the buyer that they have received the item and are satisfied. If there is a problem then I want the opportunity to work it out before any feedback is left, on either side.
There are some buyers who will see that you have left good feedback, and then will file claims etc, if they have not left feedback for you. Or there will ask for refunds or discounts etc.

In most cases, the seller has a lot higher total feedback rating than the buyer, so he has little reason to care if he gets feedback, as long as it's not negative. For that reason, a lot of sellers won't leave feedback until the buyer leaves them positive feedback.
Buyers need to accumulate feedback so they wind up being forced to leave it first.
I personally have enough feedback so I don't care who leaves it or not. When I buy, I leave feedback when I get the item reasonably quickly in decent condition. When I was selling, I left feedback every week or two, in bulk. Unless I had reason to believe there was a problem with a transaction (in which case I held off until the dispute was resolved), I never checked to see if a buyer had or hadn't already left feedback for me. I usually got about 60% feedback from buyers (ie, 60% left feedback and 40% didnt).
