Lyrically Speaking - 2/8/08

#1 Post by littlebeast13 » Fri Feb 08, 2008 7:58 am

Today's Free For All Friday songs come courtesy of the wide variety of Music Choice channels I flipped through on January 24th. This game is open until Monday morning...

1 point for the title, 1 point for the artist....

1. I didn't think about my lady
I know that sounds kind of mean
But me and my old lady
Have fallen into the same old dull routine

2. To my surprise one hundred stories high
People getting loose now, getting down on the roof

3. "We're callin' everyone to ride along
To another shore,
We can laugh our lives away
And be free once more."

4. So let that feeling
grab you deep inside
and send you reeling
where your love can't hide

5. Bing bang, I saw the whole gang
Dancing on my living room rug, yeah!
Flip flop, they was doing the bop
All the teens had the dancing bug

6. You can see I'm single-minded, I know what I could be
How'd you feel about it, come and take a walk with me?
I'm looking for a partner, regardless of expense
Think about it seriously, you know, it makes sense

7. What d'you think about that? Now you know how I feel
Say you can handle my love, are you for real? [are you for real?]
I won't be hasty, I'll give you a try
If you really bug me then I'll say goodbye

8. I'm working hard, you're working too
We do it every day
For every minute I have to work
I need a minute of play

9. The grabbing hands
Grab all they can
All for themselves
After all
It's a competetive world

10. You used to laugh about
People who were hanging out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be scrounging your next meal

11. Well I know what's right, I got just one life
in a world that keeps on pushin me around
but I'll stand my ground

12. I feel like this is the beginning
'though I've loved you for a million years
And if I thought our love was ending
I'd find myself drowning in my own tears

13. We used to think it was impossible
Now you call me by my new last name
Memories seem like so long ago
Time always kills the pain

14. Cause love cuts a million ways
Shakes the devil when he misbehaves
I aint nobody's fool
Come on shake it up
Whatever I do

15. I keep hearin' you're concerned about my happiness
But all that thought you're givin' me is conscience I guess
If I was walkin' in your shoes, I wouldn't worry none
While you 'n' your friends are worried about me I'm havin' lots of fun

16. Please forgive me while I turn out the lights
Watch this haunted day turn into a wasted night
So cut me off-throw me down

17. You're playing so cool, obeying every rule
Deep way down in your heart
You're burning yearning for the sun

18. Your sense of justice
I'll embrace
But your defense
Won't help my case
I'm deep in trouble with the law

19. Young kentucky girl in a push-up bra
Fallin all over myself
To lick your heart and taste your health cause
With the birds I'll share
This lonely view...

20. Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true

I knew you would be happy with that entry. I remember how you went off the first time I used it in the March 2003 LS....

Now you're just going to piss Marley off by pushing him even farther out of the basement....

This was a good flipping day! Better weekend than usual for me, until I got towards the end, there.

1. I didn't think about my lady
I know that sounds kind of mean
But me and my old lady
Have fallen into the same old dull routine

Escape - Rupert Holmes

2. To my surprise one hundred stories high
People getting loose now, getting down on the roof

Disco Inferno - Trammps (it's either two Ms or two Ps, I can't remember)

3. "We're callin' everyone to ride along
To another shore,
We can laugh our lives away
And be free once more."

Ride Captain Ride - Blues Image

4. So let that feeling
grab you deep inside
and send you reeling
where your love can't hide

Let Your Love Flow - Bellamy Brothers

5. Bing bang, I saw the whole gang
Dancing on my living room rug, yeah!
Flip flop, they was doing the bop
All the teens had the dancing bug

Splish, Splash - Bobby Darin

Wannabe - Spice Girls

8. I'm working hard, you're working too
We do it every day
For every minute I have to work
I need a minute of play

Turn Up the Radio - Autograph

9. The grabbing hands
Grab all they can
All for themselves
After all
It's a competetive world

10. You used to laugh about
People who were hanging out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be scrounging your next meal

Like a Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan

11. Well I know what's right, I got just one life
in a world that keeps on pushin me around
but I'll stand my ground

I Won't Back Down - Tom Petty

12. I feel like this is the beginning
'though I've loved you for a million years
And if I thought our love was ending
I'd find myself drowning in my own tears

You are the Sunshine of my Life - Stevie Wonder

13. We used to think it was impossible
Now you call me by my new last name
Memories seem like so long ago
Time always kills the pain

Cool - Gwen Stefani

14. Cause love cuts a million ways
Shakes the devil when he misbehaves
I aint nobody's fool
Come on shake it up
Whatever I do

Cradle of Love - Billy Idol

15. I keep hearin' you're concerned about my happiness
But all that thought you're givin' me is conscience I guess
If I was walkin' in your shoes, I wouldn't worry none
While you 'n' your friends are worried about me I'm havin' lots of fun

Flowers on the Wall - Statler Brothers (this was remade by somebody several years ago, which is probably the one you want. But dammit, man, it's the Statlers!)

16. Please forgive me while I turn out the lights
Watch this haunted day turn into a wasted night
So cut me off-throw me down

17. You're playing so cool, obeying every rule
Deep way down in your heart
You're burning yearning for the sun

18. Your sense of justice
I'll embrace
But your defense
Won't help my case
I'm deep in trouble with the law

19. Young kentucky girl in a push-up bra
Fallin all over myself
To lick your heart and taste your health cause
With the birds I'll share
This lonely view...

Scar Tissue - Red Hot Chili Peppers

20. Don't tell me it's not worth tryin' for
You can't tell me it's not worth dyin' for
You know it's true

Everything I Do - Bryan Adams
