Really, if TPTB are accepting boring answers to the audition questions like this, it's time for me to go back for one. :|

And he probably couldn't bear to watch the Super Bowl Jetta commercial.
I believe in the usefulness of useless information.

I am impressed that the audience knew the answer, if by only a slight plurality. Penn (also known as 'the Harvard of the Ivy League') is also the first University in the United States (by virtue of the first medical school), and is home to the first experimental psychology lab, the first student union, was the first Ivy League school to admit women folk as undergraduates (which they did about 20 years before the Ivy League was officially created), is the alma mater of Philadelphia Eagle (and NFL Hall of Famer) Chuck Bednarik, the NFL's last full-time two-way player, and currently has the hottest university President in the Ivy League. The Fighting Quakers RULE!
Innocent, naive and whimsical. And somewhat footloose and fancy-free.

That was a Passat commercial, uly. :P

Although, in the spirit of great Superbowl commercials that don't focus on the product they're advertising, all we really learn about the car is that it comes with a remote start button. 8)

The correct answer is A-Princess Leia, not Darth Varder. Please correct.

He also said that if he used the ATA lifeline and the audience helped him, he'd consider inviting them.

Darrell seemed "all business" and didn't indulge in much chitchat before answering his questions. As for me, although I haven't read "Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde" I have read (or attempted to read) the others.
BBTranscriptTeam wrote:Darrell worked as a photography editor for The Wall Street Journal but decided that he wanted to follow his dream and be a massage therapist. He wanted to do something in the health field so that he would take better care of himself.
Really? Give him credit for following his dream - but I bet photography editor pays better than massage therapist.

Well, the audience didn't come through so I guess they're not invited to the party. As for me, I know that Penn is home to the Wharton School of Business, but do they have a medical school? Conversely Johns Hopkins has the famous medical school but does it have a business school? I can't decide, so time to JTQ. This doesn't strike me as something the audience would know.

A repeat of a question used on Super Millionaire, as snaxx pointed out in another thread.

Once again Meredith practically gave the contestant a fourth lifeline - she kept him from going with his first instinct and leaving with only $1,000.

Edited to correct the answer to the $100K question.
No problem with this one - and I'd be going for $250K with two lifelines still available.

I had the same thought process as you earendel with the business/medical school question, but I would have just straight jumped it. Dream stack otherwise. I probably would have ATA on question 10, but assuming the $250K question would have really been that questions, I would've been looking at the $500K question with a jump left so I would've had a free look at the million if I wasn't sure about the $500K question.

I mentioned this separately, but I'll add to the thread that this question was a re-ask of the last ever question on Super Millionaire in May 2004. That question came at #9 (worth a jump from $30K to $50K). That contestant used 50/50 and got it wrong leaving with $5K.

Getting second billing in this column (after a story about an woman and her dog), there's a short report about Darrell's appearance.
