Curiosity
If Appa23 posted about his new handle anywhere, I missed it. So, naturally, being the curious cat that I am, I Googled it.
So far, I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the Association of Physical Plant Administrators, the American Public Power Association, or the American Probation and Parole Association.
Appa, the Sherpa, is a little more fitting, but my intuity says no.
I don't THINK TT would endorse the Nickelodeon show Avatar (at least not until #1 is a little older, but it COULD be after the flying bison on that show, I guess.
After looking at the first page, and then glancing at the "2,400,000 hits" at the top of the page, I decided to try to narrow my search a little.
So I entered "appa" and "bible," and came up with "Action for Peace through Prayer and Aid."
Any of these close?

I don't believe he has.mrkelley23 wrote:If Appa23 posted about his new handle anywhere, I missed it.
But my guess is that "Appa" is how his baby daughter says "papa".

No clue where he got the "23" from. I don't believe he's into the Illuminati series or a believer in the Law of 5.

Experiment: Why does Appa get an editing footnote when others don't?
Ah! We do now! We do!

Hmm, I have intrigued MrK, if only a little bit.
No, it does not relate to any association.
No, my son is not allowed to watch Avatar. (that is the one about the last air bender, correct?)
It is not a biblical reference.
Marley -- my youngest calls me "Dada" or "DaDaDaDa".
Pea -- Bite me! (just on general principle)
I wonder if I should set out a prize for the one who deciphers my name, though it is not that clever, so it may not take that long.
A million "Who's Line" points.

I don't know what it means, but perhaps he added the "23" in your honor.mrkelley23 wrote:If Appa23 posted about his new handle anywhere, I missed it. So, naturally, being the curious cat that I am, I Googled it.

No Reason Not To Tell
Although I like Ear's idea that I was honoring MrK with the 23 (hadn't noticed it at the end of his screen name) . . .
I decided that with a new board, I should go with a new name. Trying for a fresh start and all that (Hey, how's that working out for me?
)
Anywho, since I am more than a Holt parent now, I decided to go with "Appa", which is Korean for "Dad". (not the more formal "Father")
While all of my kids are not Korean, and none actually call me Appa right now, I always liked hearing my wife's cousins referring to their father as "Appa" over the years. It always sounded sweeter and more meaningful than a simple "Dad" or "daddy".
So, there you go.

So my guess wasn't too far off the mark, even if none of your kids actually use the word.Appa23 wrote:Anywho, since I am more than a Holt parent now, I decided to go with "Appa", which is Korean for "Dad". (not the more formal "Father")

So, are you going to explain what the "23" signifies?Appa23 wrote:Anywho, since I am more than a Holt parent now, I decided to go with "Appa", which is Korean for "Dad". (not the more formal "Father")
