Tim Hastings from Tonawanda, NY (Buffalo area--not Where Else) will enter the Hot Seat today.

Q: So how was the experience overall?

A: Next to my son being born and my wedding day, it was probably the best experience of my life. How many people do you know that get to go on a game show?
Hmmm. How many, indeed?

Then we've got the engaged couples preparing to Play to Pay for their Weddings, next week.

Elizabeth Alexander and Chris Bowker, alumni from Northern Kentucky University, will be on the show.

So will the What Else couple, Sierra Scott and Nick Aliberti.

And of possible interest to the rest of us:
Throughout the week, home viewers will have the opportunity to win a trip for two to Fiji, through Brides.com's "Flyaway To Fiji Giveaway." They also can go to www.Brides.com/Millioniare for details of the sweepstakes, complete official rules and to submit an entry (one per day).

One lucky viewer will win an eight-day, seven-night trip to Fiji, including airfare for two and accommodations at the Vomo Island Resort.

Here's another article about the WE/WE couple. (They're orginally from Elsewhere, but they're working in NYC, now.)

The couple said if they win big on the show, they will go to Europe for their honeymoon, get a new mattress and hire an amazing band for their reception.
Really? The mattress is on their "win big" list?

You will see ...

And it's WE/WE/WE/WE all the way home.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

Hey, if you're a newly-married couple, a mattress is very important!

Oh, sure! But it could be something they talk about buying after they get to the first $1K safe haven, not something they need to hope for "big money" to afford. Unless they're talking one of those deluxe Tempurpedic memory foam models. (Does anyone have one of those? Recommendations? My own mattress, vintage 1985, needs replacement. Not that I'll wait for a big win in the Hot Seat to get a new one.)

Well, since you asked, I would not recommend the memory foam type of mattress. Our experience with them has not been a good one. We bought one after the house fire and within a year it had to be replaced because it sagged. The problem with the memory foam is the memory. When we get our next mattress it will not have memory foam.

LOL! A few weeks back, the E! channel had a breakdown of the 25 highest earners of those under 25 (from 6/1/2006 to 5/31/2007). Daniel Radcliffe was very high on the list.

He splurged on one high-priced item: a mattress that cost something like $15,000.

(BTW, if I heard correctly, they noted that he was supposed to make $50 million for the movies of the last two books.)

What the heck do you get for that kind of money? I can see an entire bed for that, custom made or hand-carved or something like that, but just the mattress? I'd say he didn't leave off the last "S" for Savings.
