Shopping Update

#1 Post by silvercamaro » Fri Feb 01, 2008 5:51 pm

A week ago, I was window-shopping on line for something to wear to a dinner to be held tomorrow night. Many BBs helped, finding possible dresses at many sites. I looked at everything. I tried to order one "little black dress" and was told it wouldn't be available in my size until May. At a different store, I found another, but the shipping information offered little hope that the dress could arrive before the middle of next week. (Standard shipping was free, but three-day shipping was not available.) I ordered it anyway, as it seemed like something I could wear year-round, and I kept looking for something to wear tomorrow. I have found nothing.

BUT, God bless Ann Taylor! The dress arrived today. I like the fabric. It fits perfectly. It may even look good on me, which doesn't necessarily happen all that often. Everything is fabu.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who helped!

Please excuse me now, while I go break into a rendition of the Halelujah Chorus. (I'll sing away from the computer, because I don't really have the range for that, and it might be painful to hear.)

This is the dress. I look exactly like the girl in this photograph, except for the facts that I'm not as tall and have shorter, blonder hair, plus I'm much older and less beautiful than her to start with. Otherwise, this could be me in some parallel universe. :D

YAY! Good news and a good choice. Not that you need my approval...but you have it!

It is a great style for you.

You will make it look way better than that chickie makes it look.

Ha! That chick wishes she looked as good as you. Besides, her legs are all wonky or something...

Final update, then this thread may die of natural causes.

The dinner was last night. I wore the dress. I added pearls, circled around to make a four-strand choker.

It was a good night. I heard one "nice dress" comment, one "love those pearls," and many more "you look great" and similar compliments. That is what we're after!

In spite of the highly touted chef for this event, the food was at best somewhat better than ordinary. Nevertheless, the company was wonderful and I had a fine time. I sat at a table with my favorite state Supreme Court justice (okay, the only one I know) and other charming, funny people. Much laughter ensued.

Shall we say, Mission Accomplished? Good job and I'm sure the compliments were sincere. The pearls were a great idea.

You will also get many more affairs out of this dress.

Love envisioning the pearls.
