Ahhh, Flu season

#1 Post by a1mamacat » Mon Jan 28, 2008 11:25 pm

Big j has been ill with a bad cold, chest congestion, cough, nasal blockage fever etc since Thursday. Being the generous sort that he is, he has decided to share with me. So far I have the scratchy throat and cough and fever.

Because of my wonky thyroid, I can't take any of the decongestant type stuff, so I walk around with a roll of TP in the pocket of my robe.

Tried going to work today, and him to school. We both were home early. Probably won't be even trying tomorrow.

'sigh'

at least it will be over before the Caribbean calls.

I hope you both feel better quickly. Sleep late tomorrow and drink lots of warm liquids, including chicken soup and tea.

I am sorry that you are sick. Have you tried taking really hot showers, it will clear up your sinuses for a while.

Hot showers always help to clear up my sinuses.

Then again, so does sniffing Vicks Vap-O-Rub until I'm high. :P

heh heh, I usually rub some under my nose too. Big J can't stand it though. He gets the vapourizer and some mentholated stuff that steams from it.

I used to have a cat who loved Vap-O-Rub. I would put the Vap-O-Rub in my nostrils and on my upper lip, and she would lick it off.

All of my cats have hated the smell of mentholated stuff.

Maybe the cat simply was trying to clean you up a little, so she could sit in your lap and accept petting without having to smell the stuff any longer.

:)
