Saw it over the weekend.
Not your average chick flick, a great example of creative story-telling.
And there's the 5-and-a-half minute tracking shot, involving a thousand extras.
Trying to see all 5 Best Picture nominees before the Oscars. Right now, Atonement beats There Will Be Blood, and I haven't seen the other three. Yet.

I'm checking imdb trivia, and they say Hattie McDaniel was unable to attend the Atlanta premier (it was the nationwide opener) because the theater was segregated.ne1410s wrote:Anyone have an idea how long the shot in Gone With The Wind was? In the shot with 1600 wounded soldiers, 800 are extras and 800 are dummies. I can't find the length of the tracking shot in that film - all the references right now are to the 5 1/2-minute Dunkirk shot in Atonement, which may be homage to GWTW. Someone with the movie will have to time it for us.

I remember reading/hearing that wires were attached to some of the dummies arms to make them appear to seek help. Didn't care for the movie but I was impressed by that scene. In the shot with 1600 wounded soldiers, 800 are extras and 800 are dummies.
