Both Annie and Lizbit are going to the vet today.
They're getting pedicures!
I cannot begin to convey how happy I am that long toenails have risen to the top of the priority list.

And won't Annie be surprised when that's all they do for her and she doesn't have to spend another night in that doggie hotel!

Very nice!
I met a dog named Chloe today. She was out in the rain and she was so beautiful that I knew she didn't belong there. (She was on the street where I drop Emma off, Emma was really upset that she was out in the rain.)
Chloe wouldn't let me approach her to look at her collar, so I started asking people who walked by if they knew which house she belonged to.
Somebody told me, so I walked to her house. Chloe started following me and when I approached the front door she started barking furiously.
Her mom answered the door. She told me that her husband isn't careful and lets Chloe out and forgets to bring her back in.

He lets her out without a leash? Is that permitted in your neighborhood? It certainly isn't wise!

Annie will be disappointed that we're taking the short ride, instead of the long drive she loves so much. On the other hand, she will be thrilled when everybody makes a fuss over her, because the vet staff has seen her at her worst -- and she looks so much better now. Lizbit will be beside herself with excitement, because -- at long last -- she will get to go with Annie in the car, instead of staying home alone.

So, after their visit, drive them to a park to show off their new toenails!
Hopefully, the vet will have a shade of nail polish that they like.

The trendy color in nail polish is:

I think that it would look lovely on their toes.

Wow, who knew that I was ahead of the fashion curve right now.
When I had my spa pedi a few weeks ago, I bought Opi Russian Navy. Its got a hint of purple in it, and looks tres chic on my little toosties!

We're back. Both girls opted for the natural, no-polish look.
When a vet tech was giving head scritches and ear fluppies, she discovered that stitches remained in Annie's ear. Those got removed as an added bonus.
As a trio, we created chaos, starting when we got out of the car, and both dogs immediately went around a light pole in opposite directions and turned their leashes into macrame. Nevertheless, the dogs are counting the trip as an excellent adventure, and we didn't scare away any other clients for the vet.

I remember begging you to get a pedicure the last time I was in Norman.
I'm afraid I will insist on it this year....my treat! I mean it, young lady.

What a couple of little sweetiepies!
Casey hates to have her toenails clipped but will do anything for her cousin Karyn, who was a vet tech for a long time but moved about three hours away. She comes back about once a month or so for a couple or three days to cover vacations and keep her hand in just in case she ever decides to go to work for a vet in her new town.

I saw the picure in my head.
It was very funny.
I saw the "I'm a proud and amused momma" look on Uday's face.
Made me happy.

Silly doggies! It's too early in the year for a Maypole dance!

how wonderful to have happy stories without having to have the scare first.
I hope that Mom indulges in a pedicure as well, she deserves it.
