Wedding blog - Big Day minus 197

#1 Post by gsabc » Sat Jan 26, 2008 1:20 pm

Not the best of days for wedding stuff. I'd hoped to be able to post the MotB outfit, but apparently the separates are only shown in the physical brochure. It looks nice, and GW will look wonderful in it. Even so, she still seems unenthusiastic, more like "Well, I can't go naked" about it. I will remain encouraging, no matter what. I've said for a while that the key to a successful marriage is knowing when and how often to say "Yes, dear."

GW and BD headed off early today to drive down and check out a photographer and a florist. About ten minutes after they left, my cellphone buzzes. BD is sick and they're turning around to come home. She gave me the phone number of the people and I called to let them know. Rescheduling will be next weekend. It doesn't help that BD works with a bunch of germy little kids and this stomach bug has been going around for a month. It also doesn't help that she was out till 3 AM celebrating the 21st birthday of one of her camp co-workers, the last of the group to turn 21. I hope BD didn't give this to everyone else at the party.

So my weekend cleaning is somewhat truncated, since I can't do anything particularly noisy. BD is napping. Correction: she just came out of her room. Still not feeling well, but at least a bit more rested. The kitchen got done at least, the dog kennel is back downstairs and the furniture is finally out of its holiday configuration. The tree fits in only one spot, which is normally occupied by our loveseat, so some rearrangement occurs each season. I'd hoped to do some underbed cleaning while GW was out of the house and the dust would have time to settle before she returned. Maybe next weekend.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

One of my favorite sayings:

"Life is what happens when you're making other plans."
