I hate my laptop!!!!!:(
When I turn the power on.. the screen does NOTHING... nada, zilch.
I press the Power button for 10 seconds.. nothing.
I had closed the lid after shutting down this morning... it hasn't worked since.
Any ideas?
Pleeze?

And if that doesn't work try a shotgun. Definitely won't work after that but at least then you will know why.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:Take out the battery. Leave it out for a few minutes. Put it back in and try restarting the computer.
And it will make you feel better on several levels!

I'd still take it back. It's definitely a battery problem. Sounds like it may have overheated, but at less than a month old, it shouldn't have done that.
Take it back, seriously. I am glad it's working again, but something is not right.

It may be a slight corrosion problem on the contacts. We've had this issue with our cell phones and a flashlight or two. When you take it out and put it back in, it makes a fresh connection so it works again.PlacentiaSoccerMom wrote:I don't know why it works, but that's what I do to fix Jeff's laptop.moonie wrote:did exactly what PSM said to do.... and it friggin' WORKED!!!

My suggestion if it happens again: Take out the battery and check the metal contacts. Clean them off well, and maybe scratch on them with a fingernail to make sure all the surface crud is gone. DON'T actually scrape them with anything rough.
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.
