For Those Who Don't Watch Ernie, Kenny and Chuck

You probably don't care about this anyway, so feel free to move along.

The All Star results have been announced. The top vote getting forward in the Western Conference is

CARMELO ANTHONY!

I don't know what I'm happier about, that he was the top forward or that he beat out Duncan (I won't write the name by which he is known in my family) to do it.

And with a late surge to overcome Tracy McGrady, the starting guard other than You Know Who is

ALLEN IVERSON!

YAY!!!11 This is the first time Denver has had two starters in the All Star game since Alex English and Fat Lever in 1988.

I voted every day but they haven't bothered to email me yet and let me know that I won the trip to New Orleans to see the game. I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

Not to diminish your happiness, which is deserved, but I am pretty sure Duncan also made it as a starter.

Yao
Duncan
Anthony
Iverson
Bryant

Howard
Garnett
James
Wade
Kidd

I know who all the starters are, I just didn't bother listing them because my main point was that the Nuggets have two players starting, which is pretty incredible given the size of the league now. Also because I didn't really care as I am a crazed, unrepentant homer (the only other person I voted for that made it was Dwight Howard). But thanks for giving the recap, I probably should have acknowledged that there are other players in existence.

Carmelo beating out Duncan was referencing my previous sentence about him being the leading vote getter among forwards. He was behind by quite a bit when they gave the last voting update a couple weeks ago (and Iverson was about 80k behind!) so seeing the late surge to put him over the top was pretty exciting.

Yes, some people get up at the crack of ass for the Oscar nominees, I get all excited about the TNT gang announcing All Star starters. It takes all kinds, I guess. Ha!

Yeah, our AP story said Iverson had a late surge. I thought you thought he had kept Duncan out of the lineup. All good.
