I watched one recently and his opinion was listened to and it cost her the game. I expected that to have an affect on his for the next guy...... it didn't.
As someone else pointed out to me, Drew will always argue for a contrary position to whatever the contestant is thinking, just to rachet up the tension and excitement.
I don't think Drew is trying to rachet up the excitement. If anything, he is one of the few hosts who tries to impress upon the contestants that they are risking a lot of money if they go on and that it's on something that is always at best an educated guess.

On other shows, I think that the hosts are trying to egg the contestants on because they know that going for big money, whether they win or lose, leads to better ratings than quitting with a smaller amount.

I admit I haven't seen much of Drew on Price is Right, so I can't comment on his style there, but on Power of 10, he just seems to want to point out both sides of the argument so the contestant appreciates the choices and risk involved.

I don't think that Drew feels comfortable yet on Price is Right. I also wonder why he continues to hold the old fashioned microphone.

I would threaten to stop watching DOND since they suspended the Lucky Case Game, but since I don't watch to begin with any threat would be pointless.

According to the Great Ones on Pioneers of Television, a good host wants the contestant to win. Doesn't sound like Drew is headed for greatness.
I would not be surprised to hear they are looking for a new TPIR host.

He is REALLY bad.
It's hard to remember what Bob Barker was like when he started out, and I'd like to think that Drew will "grow into" the TPIR hosting spot. But thus far I've not been impressed with his hosting skills. As for looking for someone else, I doubt it - I think Drew has a long-term contract as the host.
