It's the Giants vs the Patriots

#1 Post by kayrharris » Sun Jan 20, 2008 9:17 pm

It took the longest field goal attempt of the night for the Giants, but they made the one that counted. I was torn,
as I like both Brett Farve and Eli Manning.
Of course, they were both SEC quarterbacks.

I'm afraid Tom Brady will make mincemeat out of Eli,
but maybe not.
We'll see, I guess. May the best team win.

I believe Brett Favre played at Southern Mississippi, and they are not in the SEC.

You're right....sorry...we do play Southern Miss every year though.

Thanks for straightening me out. :)

If Eli gets mincemeat made of him, it will not be Brady who does it.

Unfortunately for Giants fans, I don't think the Pats' secondary will miss the easy picks. I'm taking the over on number of interceptions thrown by Eli in two weeks.

But I'll be rooting for the Giants.

The Giants biggest weakness all season has been mental; not physical. When Eli comes to play, he's very, very good.

It will take a perfect game by him or some mistakes by the Patriots but it could happen.

And you'd have gotten big odds on the Giants getting here about two weeks into the season.

Boy, did Brett Favre spit the bit.

This wasn't like the Dallas game where Strahan and Osi kept getting in Romo's face.

Favre had good protection the whole game, and still threw bad balls.

The Giants defense looked great today. Brady will have his hands full.
I'm just afraid he's a level above what Eli can do when the Giants have the ball. I hope I'm wrong and it's as good a game as we saw today. No one left early, that's for sure.

I'm not really a football fan, but since I delivered pizza to the Giants training camp a few times one summer, I consider them "my" team, and I'm very happy they're going to The Big Game.

I mostly just tuned in to the end of the game, so I can't say much about overall game play, but IMHO the Giants deserve serious props for coming through in such cold conditions. (I thought the Packers would've had the edge, as they'd have been much more accustomed to such extreme weather, though I guess it was cold for them, too, this time.) I also think the Giants are in a good position going in, as it seems few people expect them to win against the juggernaut Patriots, so if they lose it's no real shame for them but if they win it would be historic. But then, what do I know?

Go Giants!

I'm happy I don't have to listen to the Networks worship Brett Favre for the next two weeks.

What a game!

Love that for the past 2 weeks, the Jints almost gave it away, yet came back to win!

He just wants to prove he's as tough as Phillip Rivers, who played the entire AFCCG on a busted ACL.

I guess 60+ weeks playing despite being on the injury list isn't enough for Brady anymore!

Just a thought to possibly save mrkelly a dollar or two. So far, in the three playoff games already played, Eli Manning has thrown zero interceptions.
