Comanche Moon
Did anyone happen to record Wednesday night's episode of this miniseries? I had taped Tuesday night's segment not knowing there was an additional one on Wednesday. Needless to say we were surprised to see that the miniseries concluded on Wednesday and not on Tuesday. So, if anyone recorded Wednesday night's segment I would be forever grateful if I could get a copy of that night's episode.

I have a seriously fuzzy (but watchable) version on tape that I haven't watched yet. Its seriously fuzzy because I was watching something I really wanted to see on another station at the same time, & I still tune things in the old-fashioned way, by antenna. Also, there's something seriously wrong with my TV's ability to pull things in through "magic cable/antenna channel 3", but that's actually a seperate problem. The night Moon III aired, it made pulling in channel 4 (CBS) & 7 (NBC) simultaneously almost impossible, though.
At any rate, if no-one comes up with a better offer, contact me after I've watched it myself. I made it through about an hour & 15 minutes of part #1 last night (which is crystal clear, due to "no problems such as above" at the time of recording). I have to say, as someone who only saw intermittant parts of Lonesome Dove, & also as someone who used to read McMurtry's novels but gave up on them even before Lonesome Dove, & also before he got seriously devoted to novels of "older times"; he used to be a contemporary-Texan writer, the sarcastic dialog in Moon is reminding my why I gave up on McMurtry. I honestly don't believe you could go around verbally taking zings at everybody in an era when everyone carried & used guns, for Pete's sake, when you couldn't even get away with it job-wise etc today.

I can probably help you, Sirge. My DVRs record to hard drives. I then download to DVD to free up space. Unfortunately, I had already cleared Part 3 from the drive by the time I saw your post. I tried to duplicate my copy (from DVD+R) on my pc yesterday (twice), but my Roxio software (Ver 6, I think) errored out at the very end of both copies.
My recorders will read from the DVD+R back to the HD, but I think it does it in real time, rather than the 10 minutes it requires to write the disk the first time. There is also a disc-copying feature that I haven't used before. I will investigate these options once I'm back home tonight, but I think one or the other will allow me to provide you a DVD+R copy.
I will post back after I've had the chance to experiment a bit.

Comanche Moon - Sirge
Sorry for the delay. I am starting a vacation this weekend, so I've been tying up loose ends at work all week.
I tried the DVD copy feature and found it does a beautiful job. It copies to the HD, prompts for a blank DVD, allows repeat for multiple copies and upon cancel, it asks whether or not to clear the image from HD.
I tested the copy and it seems identical to my original. I edited in chapter marks, so when the movie goes to commercial, click on next chapter button, and you should return to the gap after the last commercial in the group.
Send mailing details to <handle>@Yahoo.COM. I fly away on Saturday and cruise on Sunday, not returning until Friday, the 1st. I will try to send it tomorrow, providing I get your details before then.

SteelersFan watched all three episodes but didn't tape them. He didn't like them nearly as much as Lonesome Dove and probably wouldn't even have watched the last installment if he'd known how everything would end.
I'm interested in any reviews y'all care to post -- in your opinion, did Comanche Moon suffer in comparison to Lonesome Dove?
