Wedding blog - Big Day minus 206

#1 Post by gsabc » Thu Jan 17, 2008 1:16 pm

The engagement ring is still in the shop. After so many repair attempts, the manager had sent it in to be fully reset this time. It was due back three days ago, though we did get a phone call a day before that saying it would be one day late. Got that? Original return date three days ago, new date two days ago, still not here. Both BD and GW are pissed. We've purchased several thousands worth of rocks from this jeweler (a national chain, I might add) in the past year or two, so the lovely ladies want me to get some sort of recompense for the multiple problems with this ring or we'll take our purchasing dollars elsewhere. Not sure what to ask for, though. Stay tuned, especially if it doesn't arrive today, either.

I thought the wedding gown was from the same designer, but I couldn't find it on the website. I'll have to ask a lovely lady about it so I can post it later.

Do I do this every day, or is the occasional missed day allowed?
Any subjects or areas you'd like me to cover? The daily subject is kind of random (as is the time of posting), depending on what's currently happening with the plans and THC (The Happy Couple, who may need some THC by the time this is all over).
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

The model on the dress site looks like she could desperately use a cheezbrgr...

Well, I am enjoying the up-dates. I think I would be okay if you skipped one, but you should take notes in order to make sure we don't miss anything important.

Keep up the good work!

Oh, and I like the dress!

That is a beautiful bridesmaid's dress. It's a beautiful dress, period. I want it, although I'd first have to buy the body to make it look good, and I want someplace to wear it.

The dress is nice. The bridesmaids could wear it for another event. Are they all going to get the same shoes, dyed to match? Reds are difficult to match, so they could also wear silver.

I agree that is one of the nicest bridesmaid dresses I've seen.
Although I guarantee you my girls probably would never wear it again, I think it could be wore elsewhere.

I still haven't figured out how to break up the quote thingie, so I will just do it the old fashion way and hope my intent is clear.

Several thousand dollars to a national chain is not much. I would not use that as a stick. I would tell the manager the cost of the delay. How BD has been impacted by the dleay. What difference it has made that she has been without her engagement ring for so long. Give a laundry list and then ask what they can do to compensate her for that loss. Let them give the first number.

My engagement ring was late in coming back from being sized - 2 weeks late - I had an engagement party without the ring. I told the manager of my embarrassment when people wanted to see the ring at the party.

She offered me a $100 credit on a future purchase. I did not expect anything and accepted it. It was not a chain store.

The dress is cute. Not what I expected and cute. Not many bodies can wear strapless. I hope all of the bridesmaids are a size 8 or smaller. Back fat at a wedding is not a good thing.

The red is a great red - also not what I pictured when you said red.

I love it! You are doing great.

Do I do this every day, or is the occasional missed day allowed?

I want to read it daily!

Any subjects or areas you'd like me to cover?

I'd like to hear more about how you are doing. What is it like to be marrying off your daughter. How is it affecting you and GW. What are you doing to handle the negative affects and how are you basking in the positive ones.

Touchie Feelie crap.
