Time for my annual "I'm smarter than some of you" rant during Movie Week. Forgive me, but since I try out for this every year (and don't believe for a minute they'll use all 11 people they have scheduled for this week), I just have to see how well I'd have done had it been me who was chosen.

$500 A surprise hit at the box office in 2005 was a nature documentary titled “March of the” what?
A. Camels
B. Penguins
C. Lizards
D. Real Housewives of Atlanta

Spoiler
B. Penguins (6)
Easy. Although I'm not a fan, but anything with the voice of Morgan Freeman automatically seems better than it might otherwise actually be.

$1K Posters for the 2009 movie “The Proposal” depict Sandra Bullock’s character offering what to her co-star?
A. Ring
B. Towel
C. Briefcase
D. Golf club

Spoiler
A. Ring (9)
In a word: Duh. A movie question that anyone would be able to answer. At least with "March of the..." you had to have not been living under a rock; this one, you only needed to know the definition of the word "Proposal" to get.

$2K In the 2006 reboot of “The Pink Panther,” what comedian took over the Peter Sellers role of the bumbling Inspector Clouseau?
A. Robin Williams
B. Jim Carrey
C. Bill Murray
D. Steve Martin

Spoiler
D. Steve Martin ( 8 )

Not one of his better roles. Heck, not even one of his mediocre roles.

NETFLIX Q

$3K In this scene form the teen thriller “Twilight,” what actress begins to suspect that there’s more to her new friend than meets the eye?
A. Rachel Bilson
B. Kristen Stewart
C. Leighton Meester
D. Emma Watson
Spoiler
B. Kristen Stewart (3)
Hey, there's a question that you actually had to know something about movies for! Despite never having seen either "Twilight" movie, I at least know who starred in it.

$5K What are the first names of the renowned writer-director team known as the Coen Brothers?
A. Seth & Jason
B. Joel & Ethan
C. David & Josh
D. Matt & Sean

Spoiler
B. Joel & Ethan (5)

Having seen all of their movies several times each, I've got this one covered. "Blood Simple" is still my favorite of theirs, although "Fargo" is a close second. Or maybe third, behind "Miller's Crossing".

A. The Pentagon’s inner ring
B. The Grand Canyon’s parking lot

D. The Statue of Liberty’s feet

Spoiler
C. The Alamo’s basement (7)
I think of Pee Wee every time I read one of Fanny's "Ha!"s. It's been years since I've seen "Big Adventure," but it's memorable enough. I can't remember who played the psychic, but I distinctly remember Jan Hooks as the tour guide who informs him that

. Tim Burton's first full-length movie, and still one of his best (which is saying something).

$10K What film spawned the memorable line “The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist”?
A. Memento
B. Pulp Fiction
C. Trainspotting
D. The Usual Suspects

D. The Usual Suspects (20)

I play trivia every Tuesday night at a bar using the team name
Spoiler
The Usual Suspects
. I love that flick.

$12.5K The 2009 movie “Bright Star” chronicles the life of what well-known Romantic poet?
A. John Keats
B. Alfred Lord Tennyson
C. Percy Bysshe Shelley
D. Lord Byron

ATE (19)

Spoiler
A. John Keats (16)
For the second year in a row, the hosts of "At the Movies" are the experts. The good news is that Scott and Phillips are both better individually than last year's Two Bens with One Brain Cell. Again, I haven't seen the movie, but I know the plot, and hear great things about Abbie Cornish's performance.

One of my all-time favorite movies, probably #4 on my all-time Top 10 list. Even having seen the movie 800000021 times, it still took me about 10 seconds to remember. That

There is something wrong in a government where they who do the most have the least. There is something wrong when honesty wears a rag, and rascality a robe; when the loving, the tender, eat a crust while the infamous sit at banquets.

I saw it. I fell asleep during it. But not before hearing Abbie Cornish say "Mr. Keats" about nine zillion times.

Abbie Cornish is hot. Unfortunately, not in this movie.

KT, I haven't seen Some Like it Hot that many times but almost everytime it's on. I still didn't remember that line at all. It would have been my last choice.

What a refreshing change from the total drivel that was on last week. I watched about 10 minutes all week and that was enough.

Innocent, naive and whimsical. And somewhat footloose and fancy-free.

This one really surprises me. I would think that any sort of a screening process for a film week would be designed to produce contestants who have seen Twilight 23 times.
