The audience did better at remembering that logo than I would have done. A "P" in the form of a staple made just as much sense, although it's not a very good staple unless both ends are bent over to grip the paper.

Nice that she was enthusiastic about getting on the show.

OK, so THIS was the one where Robert fconfessed that he was horrible. At least he had the decency to admit it.

This is not all that obscure but it does require some knowledge of politics, which young people, sadly, don't seem to have.

Maybe SyndieBAM should bring back the experts for a "Walk of Shame" segment at the end of every week, so they can all say how they think they did, instead of just letting Meredith close with her traditional "You were great! Come back any time!" sign-off.

I pride myself on having good political knowledge, and I didn't know this one.

I don't think he's been mentioned all that much (I guess Obama hasn't gotten into enough trouble yet! Wait a while, I suppose!)

This question, and the Staples one before it (not hugely difficult, but somewhat difficult for the value, as I think this one is as well), coupled with the loss of the PAF, is what prompted me to write my post last week about how TPTB are really trying hard to keep prize takes down, maybe even to make sure the Tournament of Ten remains viable for them in the future.

The "communion on the moon" question for $25K that Jenni got yesterday only served to reinforce my opinion on the matter (again, not HUGELY difficult, but difficult for a $25K, PAF-less, question).

How did you know this answer (or how should you have known this answer) to make it any less difficult than a one in four WAG?

By reading the book "First on the Moon" (PS that this is not widely known is due to the fact that Aldrin kept it a secret- because Madalyn Murray O'Hair brought a lawsuit because the Apollo 8 astronauts read from Genesis while orbiting the moon).

But I suppose I should define my terms a little better. I thought this question should be a six-figure answer (probably $100K-$250K). A real triv-nerd, especially if he's a science-geek, probably has a decent shot of knowing it.

I wouldn't value it at $500K-$1 MM though- those types of questions are what I mean by "hugely difficult" (understanding that they aren't- always). But that slides with the actual value of the question asked.

Greg Craig is not that hard a question (although I didn't know it), but I think it was worth at least $25K.

The Staples Q was definitely harder than $7,500. Sure, we see the sign all the time, but that the L is a bent staple probably doesn't register at a conscious level for most people (and is equally not that easy to logic out).

Here's an article about Kristin's appearance. Mostly, though, it's about someone who's been stalking her on Facebook since her appearance.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? publicist Tracy Miller said the show does not generally give any training to its contestants before the show airs on how to deal with their new found fame, but if a contestant should encounter a problem the publicists are available to give advice.
It's Trisha Miller, not Tracy Miller.
“[The contestants] have all of our contact information so they can be in touch with us afterward if they do have questions about how to handle a certain situation,” Miller said.

The show did not give a crash course on how to handle this type of situation, but Gamble’s father warned the couple that things like this may happen.

Still, Johnson never thought anything like this would happen to her.

“It’s not like I won a million dollars,” Johnson said. “Leave me alone.”

Johnson does not like to advertise that she was on the show. She said she doesn’t like to talk about her experience much, especially to people she doesn’t know.

Johnson has received a few other friend requests from strangers, but unlike the man from her high school, their efforts ended when Johnson declined their first requests.

Johnson’s follower seems to have put his pursuit on hold, she said.

The man still has not contacted Johnson or sent her a friend request since she first changed her Facebook name.

Now Johnson can focus on her wedding plans and her internship at a local elementary school.
Wow, she had to put her life on hold just because she got a Facebook friend request from a stranger. I've had at least a hundred of those and never considered alerting the media.

What a baby she must be! If I had her contact info, I'd send them to the guy who sent me strange e-mails from Romania.

I'd send her the info on my stalker from Norman. And the one from Austin. Oh, and that Nigerian banker.

Yeah, you'd think if the only bad part of her WWTBAM experience was unwanted attention from strangers, she might not want to go into great detail about her vulnerability in a public article that just draws more attention to her and exposes her to a new group of strangers. A lot of people who had never heard of her before probably went on Facebook to check her out.
