Well, NRP did a special on Gee's Bend a few years back, so it did have a bit of exposure.
It's been on Alabama Public TV several times. I think it's also available as a DVD.

It's interesting that the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, had a display a few years back as well.

I agree that this is a tough q but this seems like plenty of exposure especially the postage stamps.

I agree with Marley. This is way too tough. Especially since the distractors are all clustered in the southeast. If I had heard the NPR piece or seen the exhibit at the MFAH I would mostly have remembered that it was quilts traditionally done by black women in a particular region in the south. I don't see anything there that would have cemented Alabama in particular in my memory as opposed to Mississippi or Georgia.

The stamps don't appear to say Alabama on them anywhere so even if you had seen the stamp it is only giving you the same information as the question: Gee's Bend + quilts.

"Pine Burr" is just too common all across the South and "Gee's Bend" has no particular connection to Alabama in my mind.

With the PAF gone, this is a complete guess in my mind.
