I usually don't like to brag in these threads, but I was pretty happy that I knew this one. We discussed presidential succession in 11th grade political science and our teacher mentioned that after the Speaker, it went down in order of when the cabinet department was created, mentioning that Homeland Security being created in the 2000s would relegate it to the bottom of list.

I can see the point of 3% of the audience. If you replace the tail and rodent teeth with antlers and much longer legs, a beaver is similar to a moose.

And Meredith proceeds to give Kennedy partial credit for that response, because, despite being completely wrong, her "Kennedy Logic" led Deni to the right answer (after burning his DD).

"Kennedy Logic" should become a permanent addition to our Bored lingo, I'm thinking.

He needed a lifeline for this? I mean, really? Has this dumbass ever seen a moose? Like Bullwinkle? Does Bullwinkle look like a raccoon, beaver, or ferret? Really?!

No clue. Finally time to whip out a lifeline. Best bet here would be PAF.

Given the potential power the department that was the correct answer, and its rank in the line of succession, does anyone else find it worisome that Janet Napolitano has been watching over and over the movie 'Kind Hearts and Coronets'?

The current order of Presidential Succession as established by the Presidential Succession Act of 1947 and as currently amended in 3 U.S.C. § 19. After the Department of Homeland Security was created in 2002 there was a move to put that Secretary higher in the order. Because of that debate Homeland Security was not added to the succession for quite a while. In 2005 a bill was introduced into Congress to amend the Succession Act to put the Secretary of Homeland Security at #8 in the order but the bill expired and was never re-introduced. The Act was not actually amended to put the Secretary of Homeland Security into the official succession until 2006.

Spoiler
1 Vice President
2 Speaker of the House of Representatives
3 President pro tempore of the Senate
4 Secretary of State
5 Secretary of the Treasury
6 Secretary of Defense
7 Attorney General

12 Secretary of Health and Human Services
13 Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
14 Secretary of Transportation
15 Secretary of Energy

25K: never heard/read this word before, but know "aster" means "star". Which pretty much rules out anything that isn't. On the other hand, asteroids aren't stars, either, are they, really. So double dip on "Halley's" & "Milky Way".

100K: PAF a Googler (&/or someone who would know it) here.
