Cameron is a freelance writer. A graduate of Yale, she is a smart cookie but Cameron credits her parents for her success. "They're the two most supportive people in the world, and they sacrificed so much so that I could have a better life than they did..." With the money, she'd like to take her parents on a trip to Japan.

I don't think it was intentional in this case, but this was one of those "extra ATA lifeline for the canny contestant" moments:

Cameron gave her answer and then had to be prompted by Meredith. ("final?") In those 2-3 seconds between giving her answer and finalizing that answer, Cameron got some obvious approval applause from multiple audience members.

Perhaps as the transcriber I got a little too editorial here, but this really was an especially bad one for Paula as the Expert. No useful answers or insights, and the jokes were weak to boot. (and I do count myself among those who enjoy Paula on the NPR show...)

This in spite of audible keystrokes on the part of her PAF.
So I call this a case of PAF-hotseatitis, aka "if you're going to google with your PAFs, PRACTICE PEOPLE!!!!!" (moot, I realize)

The question happened to be a very short one so it didn't hurt too much, but I'm compelled to mention that Cameron read the questions and the answers to her friend very slowly, (too slowly IMO) taking great care to clearly enunciate the unnecessary "A," "B," etc.

Definitely a Where Else®... could be a WE/WE®, depending on what kind of writer she is.

What will BAM do for contestants once the economy turns around?

"Gladius" is the name for the short sword that combatants in the arena used.

"Paula's still talking..." pretty much sums up how she's done as an expert. I really expected more of her.

I did not know this - I've always heard "Hillary Rodham Clinton", never her real middle name. I'd probably start with ATA since Clinton was a senator from NY for a while.

Well, I had scheduled one practice and had been planning to do so with the others later that day once I finished my audit ... :(

Can we make "m00t" the inverse of "w00t"?
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

12.5K: I did not know. I was between Louise & Diane, I fear because "she looks like a Louise or Diane", & no good reason. Especially no good reason because there's no universal "Louise or Diane" look, & even if there were, babies wouldn't have it, which is when people are named. I would have ATAed. At 1st at least.
